Unexcited synchronous motors Reluctance motors are used in textile machinery as drive for godets and spinning pumps. In general they are used in inverter application as single drive or group drive. Reluctance motors can be realised for any voltage/frequency ratio U/f. Speed >15.000min1 is possible. A great no. of variations concerning special shaft, flange bearing and housing is available. Reluctance motors are available for hazardous locations in flameproof design.

PMmotors with rotorcage for line start The pmexcited reluctance motors are an alternative to the reluctance motors and can be used in identical applications typical for synchronous motors.

GMN high-performance spindles with an integrated motor are designed for those applications and relevant installation situations in close collaboration with our customers. They are available as needed with a synchronous or asynchronous motor, for manual - HGS series - or automatic tool change - HGC, HGT series - and with oil-air or grease lubrication. Additional options are, for example, an AE sensor, vibration sensor or an automatic balancing system.

The rotary table combination RT3A100 consists of two directly driven rotary tables of the RT3A100 series. The B-axis has a swivelling range from approx. -10° to +110°; the C-axis can be rotated infinitely. The unit is driven by two integrated 3-phase synchronous motors. The drive guarantees highest dynamics and precision. An innovative clamping unit integrated in the housing guarantees high holding forces when the drives are switched off without position changes on the axes. By means of compressed are impact, the holding torque can be increased from 15Nm to 20Nm for special applications. The complete system is supplied as ready-to-connect unit.

With Conventional Feed Lines, the focus lies on speed and material surface. That’s why Conventional Feed Lines are equipped with a Coil Reel for pull-off, a Straightener with variable frequency drive a coil loop and a Servo Roll Feed: the loop uncouples the more inert straightening process from the highly dynamic indexing process and thus allows for high line speeds and preservation of the material surface. Since productivity and capacity demands can vary significantly, we have created different control concepts: while small Feed Lines work with a simple pneumatic drag brake at the Coil Reel and an ultrasonic sensor to control the Straightener speed, the large Feed Lines get fully synchronized controls with motor-limited Coil Reels and a smart loop, creating a steady average speed of the whole line. This allows smooth pull-off of high coil weights while the loop remains very calm – in addition, the Servo Roll Feed can work with full dynamics, even at long indexing progressions.

Positioner is designed in order to change the piece’s position, tied onto it, to the best and weld. It gives movement opportunity on two independent lines which are rotating and angular positioning. Positioners can be fixed to the ground according to weight and center of gravity of the work piece. Flange rotating speed can be sensitively adjusted with the control. nduction Heating and Joining in one turnkey system. This turnkey system is used to heat electric motor housings with various dimensions for a wide range of joining processes. Example Heating System 1: the die-cast aluminium housing for an asynchronous motor (diameter 450 mm) is heated to approx. 290°C in approx. 5 minutes to fit the wound stator package. The parts are loaded and unloaded from the feeding belt parallel to the working time. The heating process takes place in two independent work stations. The generator has a switched output which means that only one generator is required for the two heating stations. The system is controlled using a SIEMENS PLC controller. Example Heating System 2: the aluminium housing (diameter 140 mm) of a synchronous motor is heated to approx. 280°C in approx. 3 minutes to fit the stator.
