Initiator cables, also referred to as sensor/actuator cables, connect control units and different sensors, or, in the case of reversal of the measurement principle, actuators. Frequently used abbreviations include ini or ini cable (plural: inis). The Industrial Performance Unit is a powerful computing platform for the efficient commissioning of Micro-Epsilon 3D sensors. The fully compatible controller is ideally suited to inline processes in 3D measurement tasks. The intuitive 3DInspect software with Valid3D technology enables simple and fast sensor parameter setting, which allows measurements to start immediately. The Industrial Performance Unit directly processes three-dimensional data, which is subsequently evaluated and assessed via the 3DInspect software. Results can be output via the integrated PROFINET, EtherCAT and EtherNet/IP interfaces.

3D sensors from Micro-Epsilon are equipped with an easy-to-integrate SDK (Software Development Kit). The SDK is based on the GigE Vision and GenICam industry standards including the following function blocks: Network configuration and sensor connection Extensive sensor control Transmission control of measurement images Management of user-defined parameter sets C++ sample programs and documentation Access to the sensor via GigE Vision is also possible without SDK using a GenICam client.

The IF2035 interface modules are designed for easy connection of Micro-Epsilon sensors to Industrial Ethernet controllers, e.g., plant control systems. The PROFINET and EthernetIP modules are compatible with sensors that output data via an RS422 or RS485 interface. These modules operate on the sensor side with up to 4 MBaud and have two network connections for different network topologies. Installation in switching cabinets is via a DIN rail.

The CLS1000 is used for reliable position monitoring as well as for position and presence detection. The fiber optic sensor comprises a CFS sensor and a CLS1000 controller. The wide detection and operating ranges of up to 2000 mm make the fiber optic sensor ideal for the detection of components even at great distances. Due to the small design of the CFS sensors, the CLS1000 optoelectronic fiber optic sensor series is particularly suitable for use in confined installation spaces.

The optoNCDT 1320 is a new laser triangulation sensor with compact size for displacement, distance and position measurements. Due to its extremely compact size including integrated controller, the sensor can also be integrated into restricted installation space. Its low weight make the optoNCDT 1320 ideally suitable for applications where high accelerations occur, e.g., on the robot arm or in pick-and-place machines. The optoNCDT 1320 offers high accuracy and adjustable measuring rates up to 4kHz. The Active Surface Compensation (ASC) provides stable distance signal control regardless of target color or brightness. Very small objects can be detected reliably due to the small measurement spot size.

The eddyNCDT 3005 is a compact inductive measuring system (eddy current) for precise displacement and position measurements. The system comprises a robust controller, a sensor and an integrated cable and is factory-calibrated either for ferromagnetic or non-ferromagnetic materials.

Temperature is one of the most measured physical parameters. Despite this, precise temperature measurement is one of the most difficult tasks in motor technology. To meet the constantly increasing requirements for improved motor performance, higher efficiency and reduced emissions, it is necessary to use reliable and precise sensors in modern motor control systems. The increased requirements over the last few years regarding measurement accuracy and reliability of temperature measurements has meant that many equipment operators must reconsider the suitability and performance capacity of their temperature measurement equipment. Resistant thermometers can be used between -200 °C and +850 °C. An important common property is that their output parameters are available in the form of electric signals that can be relatively easily transferred to measurement and control instruments for processing, storage and display.

Thermo Sensors are needed in any controlled heating process. For various applications different types of thermocouples are obtainable. Most common are thermocouples (TC) and resistance sensors (RS). Both types are available in the same executions as a matter of princible. For non-contact measuring infrared sensors are the rights choice, either in stationary executions or as portable measuring instrument.

Bentley-Harris® Textalu 1202 is an insulative fiberglass sleeving with a heavy aluminum coating designed to protect components in high temperature areas. It provides superior insulation to components that must maintain stable temperatures to assure performance efficiency. Textalu 1202 is used on wire harnesses, sensor control wiring and cable assemblies in close proximity to engines and exhaust systems. Due to its elastic structure, Textalu 1202 conforms well to the variable profiles of the components it protects. Its braided construction allows good flexibility in temperatures as low as -50°C. The infra-red emissivity rating of Textalu 1202 heavy aluminum coating, combined with its fiberglass braid, ensures temperature stability inside the Textalu sleeving despite frequent external temperature fluctuations due to radiant heat.
