To produce industrial aluminum of this caliber, Novelis begins by carefully controlling the composition of the alloy, then taking exceptional care in the casting procedure to avoid non-metallic impurities. The surfaces of the aluminum ingots are then sawed and scalped to remove any new impurities before rolling. These ingots are preheated for long periods for optimal homogenization of the metal structure, then hot- and cold-rolling procedures achieve high surface quality. “Bright rolling” delivers the highest possible surface consistency and reflectivity. The result is an aluminum surface reflective enough to be used as a mirror.

Castrol Molub-Alloy 777 NG series (05/20/2021) High-duty lubricating greases Description Castrol Molub-Alloy 777 NG high-duty lubricating grease was developed for high loads in unfavorable environmental conditions . It is manufactured and additived in such a way that it can withstand shock and heavy loads such as those found in the steel industry or in the construction industry, mining and forestry. To produce Castrol Molub-Alloy 777 NG, a mixture of high viscosity mineral oils and polymers are used, which form a tough lubricating film that can withstand shock loads and vibrations. The shear-stable thickener has a very good sealing effect against contamination if mechanical seals are damaged or missing (sealing grease collar on the bearing). The grease contains solid lubricants whose structure has been selected to meet the requirements of harsh operation in heavy industry . It shows a good affinity for metallic surfaces.

Novelis offers two corrosion-resistant alloys of tension-free aluminum sheeting, including the hard-wearing AIMg3 alloy, to simplify reinforcement and reduce substructure costs. This stability makes it a superior choice for plastic or composite sheeting. It also means it can be recycled completely at the end of the product’s life for the current market value of the metal.

Heat protection tubes are made by layering several kinds of aluminum alloy foil and other materials, such as fiberglass and plastic with corrugations. The excellent reflectivity of the aluminum alloy on the external surface reflects radiant heat, and its insulating power additionally serves to protect the aluminum flexible tube’s content from heat sources. These products have great flexibility but high dimensional stability, and they can be compressed or extended as required. They can also be fastened or mounted easily by crimping the end fittings.

Novelis Fusion™ 6HF – s200RW is a heat treatable product for applications with extremely demanding formability requirements. Fusion™ 6HF – s200RW offers the ultimate additional solution for remote laser welding of aluminium 6xxx alloys without the need for any additional metal. Access to the weld area is enhanced, welding speed is increased and the stability of the process is improved in comparison with standard laser welding processes. This product is recommended for inner panels with high formability requirements such as door inners or other closure inner panels. With Fusion™ 6HF – s200RW “near-edge” welding, a reduction in the flange length to as little as 5mm becomes possible. All values are typical.

Novelis Advanz™ 7UHS – s701 is a product developed for structural applications requiring high inservice strength. The 7xxx alloy provides the highest T6 strength among current aluminum alloys and has significantly higher strength over incumbent 6xxx alloys. This in turn offers potential for lightweighting of structural parts over advanced high strength steel options without compromising performance requirements. The alloy-temper can be optimized to provide good balance between strength, crash performance and corrosion resistance. Advanz™ 7UHS – s701 is an excellent choice for strength-dominated structural components, such as A-pillar, B-pillar, door beams as well as various other structural reinforcements. This product exhibits excellent specific strength and specific energy absorption along with good hot formability making it an ideal material for lightweighting of structural reinforcements. Novelis Advanz™ 6HS s650 is Novelis’ latest offering to the high strength 6xxx series and caters to structural applications requiring high in-service strength. A tailor-made alloy, specifically designed for high strength requirements without compromising its forming characteristics, Novelis Advanz™ s650 has a 15-20% T6 strength advantage over incumbent high strength 6xxx, coupled with excellent crash behavior and corrosion resistance. Predominantly an alloy of choice for structural parts with high demand on forming and high strength after paint bake, typical areas of application are A-pillar, B pillar, roof traverse, rocker, inner and floor panels, bumpers and battery cases along with various other structural reinforcements. This product exhibits excellent after paint bake response which in turn provides high in-service strength making it an ideal material for light weighting of structural components. High temperature assembly paste Description Castrol Molub-Alloy Paste TA (previous product name Castrol Optimol Paste TA) is a paste for screw connections up to +1100 °C. It is used as an assembly paste and prevents sticking, welding and scaling. Molub-Alloy Paste TA ensures good separation and sealing in high-temperature and wet areas as well as in aggressive media. Application Molub-Alloy Paste TA is used as an assembly aid for components at risk of corrosion, temperature and environmental stress, such as screws, bushings, valves, flange and pipe screw connections, form-fitting components, seals, stuffing boxes and packings as well as for metal pairings of light metal against steel. Molub-Alloy Paste TA is used as a base and thin film lubrication for sliding surfaces subject to high thermal loads.

Containers are available in a wide range of sizes, with diameters of 3 m up to 40 m and volumes up to more than 10,000 m3. WIDE CHOICE OF MATERIALS There is a wide variety of materials to choose from, ranging from steel and galvanised steel through to high alloy stainless steels (e.g. 1.4301 [304] or 1.4571 [316Ti]), according to the requirements of the storage medium in each case. Not all extruded profiles are required to be circular in shape! Whether it is a seamless or porthole hollow-profile, at ALUnna, we have a multitude of possibilities. Simple profiles, such as a solid profile or an angle profile, are also available. On some profiles we may have the possibility to further improve the dimensional tolerances by adding a subsequent drawing step to achieve final dimensions. In addition to round tube, shaped, square or rectangular tubes in both medium strength and high-strength alloys can be produced.

In coil coating, an organic coating is applied to the surface of a metal strip in a continuous process. The HUEHOCO portfolio includes both decorative and weather-resistant coatings as well as system solutions for a firm bonding of the metal strip with various rubber compounds and/or various plastics. For technical applications, there are also high-temperature resistant and non-stick as well as anti-friction systems, directly rubber- or plastic-coated metal strips. Since 1989 we have been the first company in the world to offer our customers the opportunity to have their goods delivered "endlessly" wound with more than 200,000 metres in a single strip on metal or plastic spools. Depending on our customers' requirements, we can process all wrought aluminium alloys, stainless steels, steel grades and non-ferrous metals available on the market in various degrees of hardness.

Aluminum enclosures dissipate heat, while the material’s resistance to the effects of weathering makes it ideal for use in outdoor applications as varied as housings, rod antennae and satellite dishes.

The key to successful power generation through wind is efficiency, and industrial aluminum is playing a key role in making wind turbines lighter. Working together with our partners, we’ve created a smaller, lighter tower casing behind the rotor blades, as well as an innovative aluminum enclosure for the turbine’s generator that is lighter and more efficient than fiberglass composite housings used previously. This housing reduces fire risk thanks to aluminum’s incombustibility and helps cool the generator due to aluminum’s thermal conductivity, extending the aluminum enclosure’s functional life. It also maximizes the unit’s recyclability and protects the generator from lightning, since the aluminum acts as a Faraday cage and is non-combustible in the event of a lightning strike.

STOL®194 is a CuFe2P alloy with good electrical conductivity for components with low to medium strength requirements. With its good relaxation resistance, it is very suitable for terminals, lead frames and power transistors.

STOL®95 is a CuCrZr alloy with a combination of very high electrical conductivity and good relaxation resistance, even at an operating temperature of 250°C. This alloy is very suitable for components with medium strength requirements. It is used particularly in applications in the field of mobile devices, as a heat sink, and for highcurrent contacts, for example in hybrid vehicles or photovoltaic technology.

STOL®94 is a hardenable CuNiSi alloy for high strength requirements up to 750 MPa in combination with good electrical conductivity, bendability and relaxation resistance. In some cases it may also be used as a substitute for beryllium alloys.
