To produce industrial aluminum of this caliber, Novelis begins by carefully controlling the composition of the alloy, then taking exceptional care in the casting procedure to avoid non-metallic impurities. The surfaces of the aluminum ingots are then sawed and scalped to remove any new impurities before rolling. These ingots are preheated for long periods for optimal homogenization of the metal structure, then hot- and cold-rolling procedures achieve high surface quality. “Bright rolling” delivers the highest possible surface consistency and reflectivity. The result is an aluminum surface reflective enough to be used as a mirror.

Novelis aluminum sheets arrive with protective film in place on delivery, and they can be processed easily for perfect edges and flawless corners. In addition, we test the surface and substance of all our products to conform to the highest international quality standards. Novelis offers two corrosion-resistant alloys of tension-free aluminum sheeting, including the hard-wearing AIMg3 alloy, to simplify reinforcement and reduce substructure costs. This stability makes it a superior choice for plastic or composite sheeting. It also means it can be recycled completely at the end of the product’s life for the current market value of the metal.

Heat protection tubes are made by layering several kinds of aluminum alloy foil and other materials, such as fiberglass and plastic with corrugations. The excellent reflectivity of the aluminum alloy on the external surface reflects radiant heat, and its insulating power additionally serves to protect the aluminum flexible tube’s content from heat sources. These products have great flexibility but high dimensional stability, and they can be compressed or extended as required. They can also be fastened or mounted easily by crimping the end fittings.

Novelis Fusion™ 6HF – s200RW is a heat treatable product for applications with extremely demanding formability requirements. Fusion™ 6HF – s200RW offers the ultimate additional solution for remote laser welding of aluminium 6xxx alloys without the need for any additional metal. Access to the weld area is enhanced, welding speed is increased and the stability of the process is improved in comparison with standard laser welding processes. This product is recommended for inner panels with high formability requirements such as door inners or other closure inner panels. With Fusion™ 6HF – s200RW “near-edge” welding, a reduction in the flange length to as little as 5mm becomes possible. All values are typical.

Novelis Advanz™ 7UHS – s701 is a product developed for structural applications requiring high inservice strength. The 7xxx alloy provides the highest T6 strength among current aluminum alloys and has significantly higher strength over incumbent 6xxx alloys. This in turn offers potential for lightweighting of structural parts over advanced high strength steel options without compromising performance requirements. The alloy-temper can be optimized to provide good balance between strength, crash performance and corrosion resistance. Advanz™ 7UHS – s701 is an excellent choice for strength-dominated structural components, such as A-pillar, B-pillar, door beams as well as various other structural reinforcements. This product exhibits excellent specific strength and specific energy absorption along with good hot formability making it an ideal material for lightweighting of structural reinforcements. Novelis Advanz™ 6HS s650 is Novelis’ latest offering to the high strength 6xxx series and caters to structural applications requiring high in-service strength. A tailor-made alloy, specifically designed for high strength requirements without compromising its forming characteristics, Novelis Advanz™ s650 has a 15-20% T6 strength advantage over incumbent high strength 6xxx, coupled with excellent crash behavior and corrosion resistance. Predominantly an alloy of choice for structural parts with high demand on forming and high strength after paint bake, typical areas of application are A-pillar, B pillar, roof traverse, rocker, inner and floor panels, bumpers and battery cases along with various other structural reinforcements. This product exhibits excellent after paint bake response which in turn provides high in-service strength making it an ideal material for light weighting of structural components. Not all extruded profiles are required to be circular in shape! Whether it is a seamless or porthole hollow-profile, at ALUnna, we have a multitude of possibilities. Simple profiles, such as a solid profile or an angle profile, are also available. On some profiles we may have the possibility to further improve the dimensional tolerances by adding a subsequent drawing step to achieve final dimensions. In addition to round tube, shaped, square or rectangular tubes in both medium strength and high-strength alloys can be produced.

The key to successful power generation through wind is efficiency, and industrial aluminum is playing a key role in making wind turbines lighter. Working together with our partners, we’ve created a smaller, lighter tower casing behind the rotor blades, as well as an innovative aluminum enclosure for the turbine’s generator that is lighter and more efficient than fiberglass composite housings used previously. This housing reduces fire risk thanks to aluminum’s incombustibility and helps cool the generator due to aluminum’s thermal conductivity, extending the aluminum enclosure’s functional life. It also maximizes the unit’s recyclability and protects the generator from lightning, since the aluminum acts as a Faraday cage and is non-combustible in the event of a lightning strike.

STOL®194 is a CuFe2P alloy with good electrical conductivity for components with low to medium strength requirements. With its good relaxation resistance, it is very suitable for terminals, lead frames and power transistors.

STOL®95 is a CuCrZr alloy with a combination of very high electrical conductivity and good relaxation resistance, even at an operating temperature of 250°C. This alloy is very suitable for components with medium strength requirements. It is used particularly in applications in the field of mobile devices, as a heat sink, and for highcurrent contacts, for example in hybrid vehicles or photovoltaic technology.

STOL®94 is a hardenable CuNiSi alloy for high strength requirements up to 750 MPa in combination with good electrical conductivity, bendability and relaxation resistance. In some cases it may also be used as a substitute for beryllium alloys.

STOL®80 is a CuSn0.2 alloy with a slightly higher tin content than CuSn0.15. As a result, a higher strength with good electrical conductivity is achieved. STOL® 80 is preferably used for male connectors and junction boxes.

STOL®78 is a CuMg alloy for connectors in automotive, electrical and electronic applications. Thanks to the combination of high electrical conductivity with high strength and good relaxation resistance, this alloy is particularly suitable for relays, current carrying springs, bus bars and fuse boxes with resilient functions.

STOL®76M is a modified version of the STOL®76 alloy. In its tinned version it has reduced peelingoff effects depending on the usage conditions. The improved properties are of particular interest for connectors used in the automotive, electrical and electronics sectors. The alloy combines high electrical conductivity, medium to high strength and good relaxation resistance up to an operating temperature of 150°C, combined with good formability.

STOL®76 is a precipitation hardened CuNiSi alloy for applications in the automotive, electrical and electronics industries. This alloy is particularly suitable for components in the medium strength range (up to 620 MPa). The combination of good electrical conductivity and good relaxation resistance makes this alloy especially recommendable for automotive connectors.

STOL®75 is a CuCrSi high current alloy that is very well suited for contact elements in the high voltage range as well as in electromobility. Due to the unique combination of high conductivity and relaxation resistance, this alloy is especially used in electrified vehicles and solar systems even at higher operating temperatures.
