We founded LightFab in 2013 and developed the foundations of our technologies at the Chair for Laser Technology of the RWTH Aachen located in the Fraunhofer Institute for Laser technology ILT in Aachen, Germany. We produce micro structured glass components using ultrashort pulse lasers as well as the microscanners suitable for producing these – the "LightFab". The basis of our innovative products are the many years of experience the founders (Dipl.-Phys. Martin Hermans, Dipl. Ing. Jürgen Ortmann and Dr. rer.nat.
