Cygnus ultrasonic hatch cover weathertightness tester has been ABS type approved and accepted by P & I clubs. This ultrasonic hatch cover testing device is used to perform quick and effective evaluation of cargo hold hatch covers and door seals to determine water leaks and weathertightness. This ultrasonic leak detection system allows inspections to be carried out with cargo in place or in subzero temeprature, replacing traditional and unreliable methods such as hose testing. The Cygnus Hatch Sure system comprises of 2 parts a battery powered transmitter containing 19 ultrasound emitters (40 kHz) which are arranged to produce an omnidirectional sound field uniformly distributed throughout the cargo hold; and a receiver which displays the sound energy level that passes through gaps in the enclosed cargo hold to enable the location of leaks to be quickly and accurately identified.

Our warehousing and storage facilities can accommodate long and short term cargo handling and storage solutions or can simply be used as a 'holding' area for abnormal loads awaiting onward transport or shipment. Our 5-acre depot at Halifax offers 40,000sq ft of indoor warehousing and outdoor storage space and is divided between two operations, general warehousing for standard cargo and heavy lift storage for large, out of gauge cargo and abnormal loads. This depot is fully equipped to accommodate test builds, featuring two overhead gantry cranes with 30 Tonne and 32 Tonne capacity.

Our in-house qualified Mechanical Engineers are able to propose and produce engineering drawings including geometrical tolerancing to BS8888:2017 standards and working under CDM2015 regulations to BS5975:2018 standards for temporary works. We also follow EN:1990, EN:1991, EN:1992 and EN:1993 and the British National Annex for the design of any bespoke solutions. As part of our service you will be allocated a dedicated Project Manager who will oversee these requirements and co-ordinate the entire project, including full route assessment, specialist reporting and swept path analysis where required, ahead of the movement taking place.

To compliment this, we have a 15 Tonne capacity forklift truck for handling storage containers and vanning/de-vanning operations. Our premises at Halifax also offers the opportunity for test builds, complete with handling facilities and auxiliaries. Our portside Goole Depot offers both internal warehousing and external storage facilities, and features a 110 Tonne straddle carrier, a 45 Tonne capacity container handler/top lift and up to 28 Tonne FLT equipment for handling storage containers and vanning/de-vanning operations. Each COLLETT depot features warehousing & specialist heavy lift equipment including 110 Tonne straddle carriers, overhead gantry cranes and fork trucks providing the ideal solution for storage and transhipment operations.
