Sapphire (Al2O3) is one of the hardest minerals and optical materials available for use in the range from UV up to 5µm. Sapphire is birefringent and if its use is for critical optical application then the crystal might have to be cut along the zero degree plane, or C-Cut. Random cut is usually cut along a plane that is 60° off-axis as the growth in this direction is the easiest to grow. Random cut is anything that is not the C-Cut angle. Sapphire can fluoresce depending upon the concentration of other minerals within the lattice, for example Iron (Fe) or Chromium (Cr). Clear Sapphire might fluoresce orange when illuminated by UV light if impurities are in the crystal. Moisture resistant MDF (MR MDF) is the most versatile of all the MDF products. It is perfect for high moisture areas such as bathrooms and kitchens and invaluable for painted MDF panel projects. Due to its resistance to moisture ingress, MR MDF is perfect for projects such… Skirting Boards Bathroom wall panelling. Kitchen Wall Panelling. Laminated or Painted kitchen cabinet doors. and any indoor environment where moisture may be a concern. In addition, we also recommend it for all DIY painted MDF projects as it is less prone to fibre lift when painted. Not all MDF panel products are made equal, in fact there many varieties of MDF, each having its own specific purpose. Our White Moisture Resistant MDF board is specifically designed for use as a pre-finished board that can be used in areas that are prone to moisture or occasional wetting. This product features all the qualities of standard White Melamine faced board, easy to work with, easy to machine, clean cutting (when cut correctly) and the ability to take an edging. The obvious advantage is that it can be used in environments such as kitchens and bathrooms without the risk of swelling caused by the ingress of moisture. Our 18mm Ivory Melamine faced board is available from stock and is comes with the option of a pre-applied, colour matched, 2mm ABS edging. When ordering edging please enter your overall dimensions, we will allow for the the thickness of the edging. You can select how many edges you would like edged using our drop down menu. If you would like a contrasting coloured edging, or a real wood edging such Oak or Birch Plywood. To do this, simply enter your requirement in the order notes section on our checkout page. Our Plywood edging is a great way to create exposed Birch Plywood edge shelves and panels at “half” the cost of real Plywood and without the hassle of finishing We prefer to use a Melamine faced MDF board as it cuts cleaner, accepts fixings, such as screws, much better and edging bonds to it more reliably than the chipboard alternative.

Our Bullnosed wall panel dado rail has been created specifically to fit our T&G & Bead & Butt panelling however, it looks also looks great with our MDF Shaker Style Wall Panelling. The Dado is available with, or without, a pre grooved (rebated) on the rear so that it will sit on top of 6mm, 9mm or 12mm MDF Wall panelling kits and our low cost, DIY wall panelling packs. If you are looking for a Tongue and Groove MDF wall panelling dado rail, or a dado rail to fit our Tongue and Groove Cladding, then please select either the 6mm or 9mm rebated version to suit your choice of panel thickness. If you are looking for a Small Ribbed, Decorative MDF Panel for your next interior design project, our Mini Ribbed Panelling is the perfect solution. As standard, the panels are available in two thicknesses, two sheet sizes and in two orientations. However, and as the panels are produced in-house, we can provide a range of variations. Our standard panels are 12 or 15mm thick. Upon request, we can provide 22mm, 25mm or 30mm thick panels. 22mm and 25mm being ideal for ribbed effect wardrobe or kitchen doors. Sheet sizes are available in 2400 or 3000mm high x 1200mm wide (portrait, tall & thin) or 1200 high x 2400 or 3000mm wide (landscape, short and wide), each with vertical ribs. The bespoke nature of our business allows to adjust spacings to cater for precise cut to size panels and adjust the angle of the orientation to allow for angled ribbed panels where and when required.

The most popular or our MDF decorative wall panels is, without doubt, our range of Fluted MDF panels. Available in three “standard” variations, Large, Standard and Mini, each of which is available in primed, and un-primed options as well as a range of sheets sizes and orientations. If you require a “cut to size” service for your particular project, we can also, due to the way our panels are machined, adjust the pitch of our standard and mini fluted MDF panels to suit the width of our panels so they fit your space perfectly. This will allow you to accommodate fixed panel widths on projects such as decorative kitchen island panelling, or decorative feature walls, without awkward partial flutes or unsightly, irregular finishing on end or corner details.
