VCI Stands for Volatile Corrosion Inhibitor. These VCI Paper sheets use a sophisticated surface neutralization mechanism. In a state of equilibrium the VCI Corrosion Inhibitor will adhere to the surface of the metal when deposited. This then protects the product until the formula is manually removed with either a water spray or compressed air. This VCI Corrosion inhibitor is unlike cheaper alternatives in that it will regenerate itself by drawing on the remnants of the formula within the VCI atmosphere contained within the enclosure. Cortec VpCI® 148 is a grease and oil resistant paper for the packaging, storage and shipment of sensitive metal items. VpCI 148 combines a grease & oil resistant paper construction with Cortec’s Vapour Phase Corrosion Inhibitors for enhanced protection of your goods during transport and storage. VPCI 148 is resistant to grease, oils and solvent. Unlike other wax coated paper alternatives which can exacerbate existing environmental problems, VPCI 148 contains a bio based organic coating that is fully recyclable and repulpable. Like with all Cortec VpCI papers 148 is made from neutral and natural Kraft paper. A fluorochemical free product. ASMS659 is a heat and corrosion resistant steel. We hold this grade in round bar form. The material is typically used for parts requiring good corrosion resistance which will be subjected to elevated temperatures during fabrication and service. The material is particularly good for parts requiring oxidation resistance up to 816oC. Material is supplied in the solution heat treated condition.

A clean stainless steel surface will generate its own passive oxide layer when exposed to oxygen. It is this oxide layer that gives stainless steels their corrosion resistant qualities, it is possible however to accelerate the formation of this layer by chemical passivation.

We offer a comprehensive range of super mirror marine polished stainless steel tube in grade 316 (1.4401). The size range covers tubes from ½” (12.70mm) – 2.1/2” (63.50mm) with a 16 gauge (1.6mm) wall thickness. Suitable for marine environments and high-chloride exposure.
