This portable power supply for medical use is a nice example of co-creation. Our client came up with the idea to create a powerful battery for the medical world. It can be used on equipment trolleys that allow the medical personnel to get right up to the patients’ beds. The battery is so powerful that one charge is enough to power it for an entire shift. Naturally, this battery pack had to be properly protected and practical to use. That is where Enbi Plastics came in. From the very beginning, we were involved in product development: from the first sketches to a complete end product that helps medical professionals do their work. For the design, we took into account practical usability and safety: there are no sharp edges, the battery pack is splash proof and the design underwent drop tests. In addition, the choice for medical grade plastic means it is also easy to clean. The addition of the inserts – gilded contacts – required a lot of precision. These are melted in by us in-house.

GRP designs meet requirements for high mechanical stability and are also resistant to many chemicals and corrosion. They do not conduct electricity and are easy to assemble. We are always delighted to work on special projects for our customers. The task here was to design a special GRP crane platform with a stainless steel crane unit. This was developed and built by TC and is used to raise battery packs by approx. 1 m. The complete crane platform can be rolled manually to the respective place of use.

The RESISTOMAT® model 2320 is a universally applicable and easy to operate measurement device for low-ohmic resistances. The light and handy device in a stable IP54 plastic housing with membrane keypad is likewise suitable for use in service, laboratory or on the production floor. The power supply is done via built-in rechargeable battery packs or by standard batteries. If need be, the temperature of samples can be measured and the sample resistance is subsequently compensated to fit the value at 20°C. This applies for samples with resistances depending on the sample’s temperature. The temperature coefficients for copper and aluminium are included as standard. The new IPC charger series is the latest innovation in the field of quick-charging. The universal chargers have integrated communication and support all popular communication protocols, such as CAN, I2C, SM, LIN, HDQ. Li-ion rechargeable battery packs from 24 V to 48 V will be automatically detected. Once the E-BUS charger has made contact with the rechargeable battery, an extensive diagnostics procedure is started. The intelligent chargers identify the rechargeable battery voltage, the charge current is adapted and the charge process started. The output power here is up to 300 W. When a power outlet is available near the CP120B or CP160B generators, a specific mains power supply can be used to directly power the generators without having to use the battery packs. This equipment consists of an adaptor in the shape of a battery pack that enables both an easy and solid connection to the CP generator. A green LED on the side of the main power cable indicates that the PS36 is switched on and that a supply voltage is available.

The Li-ion battery pack charger is uniquely designed to charge the Li-ion battery packs of either the CP120B or CP160B generators. On the front panel there is a ‘power-on’ LED indicating that a supply voltage is present and the charger is switched on, as well as a led battery charge indicator that displays the progress of the charge cycle. On the rear panel you will find a standard IEC power connector, a power switch and a fuse holder.

The Safety Interlock systems (SIK) allows the connection of multiple safety systems simultaneously to the CP120B/ CP160B generators. The SIK and CP Battery generator are both powered by one and the same CP Battery pack, allowing outdoor field usage, but can also be connected to the mains power supply (optional) if required.
