Mangiferin is a natural compound in the flavonoid-type compound class. It is a glucoside of another flavonoid – xanthonoid. In nature, it can be located in various sources like Arabica coffee, Algerian iris, and cotton tree, but mainly it is known from the leaves and bark of the mango tree Mangifera indica.
