Klimahelten er Strømtid’s produkt til den forbruger, som godt vil gå et ekstra skridt for at kæmpe for den grønne omstilling. Ved at skifte fra sort strøm til grøn energi er man også med til at mindske udledningen af CO2. Jo mindre sort strøm, der florerer på det danske elnet, jo mindre CO2 vil også blive udledt. Strømtid sørger for at dække kundens strømforbrug med grønne certifikater fra vedvarende energikilder. Grønne certifikater udstedes og sælges af producenterne af den grønne energi til forbrugere eller elselskaber. Det er et system, som skal sikre, at elselskaber ikke lyver om, hvor deres strøm kommer fra. Formålet er at matche strømforbruget med en tilsvarende produktion af strøm fra vedvarende energikilder. Grøn strøm kan være mærket med ét eller to grønne blade. Klimahelten er et produkt fra Strømtid, som er mærket med ét grønt blad, hvilket betyder, at det er et elprodukt baseret på vedvarende energikilder uden yderligere klimatiltag.

Klimahelt+ er et produkt fra Strømtid, som har to blade, hvilket er den grønneste kategori, når det gælder grøn strøm. Det er et el-produkt baseret udelukkende på strøm fra vedvarende energikilder samt yderligere klimatiltag med en ikke-ubetydelig klimaeffekt, hvilket i dette er CO2 kompensation. Vælger man som forbruger at være klimahelt+ hos Strømtid, betyder det, at strømforbruget både dækkes af grønne certifikater, ligesom det bliver gjort med klimahelten, og at 1 ton af forbrugerens årlige CO2-udledning kompenseres. CO2 helt er derfor det grønneste produkt forbrugeren, eftersom man også investerer i at begrænse udledningen af CO2. Strømtid sørger som sagt for at kompensere for 1 ton af forbrugerens årlige CO2-udledning. CO2 kompenseres normalt gennem projekter, som bevarer eller genopretter naturområder eller ved at investere i grøn energi eller skove for at veje op for CO2-udledningen.
