In order to meet the demands for robustness and efficient heat output, we have embroidered the heating element on a glass mesh fabric carrier material. Between the meandering arrangement of the heating strands, we integrate a recess for the temperature switch in the CAD layout. In addition, a second wire is laid concurrently as a PTC thermistor for the electrical connection of the safety switch. After the technical embroidery process, the safety switch is inserted and connected by our company’s respective department. Each prefabricated element is tested for functionality and performance in the final inspection and is delivered to the customer after passing the test. As a semi-finished product, the infrared heating element on glass mesh fabric can be further processed by the customer, e.g. in connection with silicone, rubber or epoxy resin.

With our CNC-wire-laying technology is it very easy to integrate functions like heaters for Anti-Icing/De-Icing or surface sensors for detections of structural problems in carbon or glass fiber parts. We can manufacture dimensions up to 2500x8000mm.

At Embro, we develop and produce customised, textile-based surface sensors in large dimensions. The special kind of films and coating patterns used in our oil-filled E63-capacitors give them a high specific ratio of capacitance to volume and makes them extremely overvoltage proof. Very good self-healing characteristics and the integrated overpressure protection (" BAM ") ensure safe operation and controlled disconnection in the event of overload or failure at the end of operating life. Hence the E63s are interesting particularly for applications with high AC ripple currents, e.g. as smoothing or supporting capacitors in buffer storage circuits, in sensitive environment with high safety requirements. Note that the presence of an overpressure mechanism adds substantially to the self-inductance of the capacitor, and limits the surge current rating. If self-inductance and surge current are important issues, then our E50 or E53 ranges may be considered as a more adequate option.
