Heating technology with a future The calculation is simple, the technology successful. Efficient surface drying is achieved with biomass in Rippert plants. Together with the Hargassner company from Austria, a specialist for heating with biomass, and the proven Rippert plant know-how, the technology is now marketable and has gone into production. The demanding drying characteristics in a powder-coating plant are compatible with the process and work perfectly. A future-orientated heating technology with considerable economic and ecological benefits – the experts are unanimous in that. Wood pellets or wood chips are the inexpensive energy suppliers. They are valuable waste products that result from the processing of domestic timbers. Heating with wood chips – without intermediate heat transfer media such as thermal oil • Environmentally friendly and CO2-neutral • fully automatic boiler cleaning and ash discharge Maximum financial saving potentials are realised with this energy carrier. Wood chips, chopped to a transportable size and dried by the supplier, are stored in the storeroom near the plant. It can be located on the same level or lower. A tried-and tested transport system consisting of a floor agitator with springs and discharge auger carries the wood chips reliably into the plant. Here it acts as a fuel with maximum convenience. If the calorific value equivalents are examined, we see that 1,000 litres of fuel oil is equivalent to 12 m³ of wood chips. The ratio is the same for 1,000 m³ of natural gas. Heating with wood pellets - without intermediate heat transfer media such as thermal oil Wood pellets are true energy bundles. They consist of natural wood and are made by compressing sawdust, which is produced in large quantities every day in the industry. As a biomass they are the alternative to wood chips and are just as advantageous from an economical point of view. Pellets have the smallest volume and are conveyed dust-free and without odours from storage containers to a storage vessel next to the plant. They are transported into the combustion chamber via a rotary vane feeder and feed auger. For comparison: 1,000 l fuel oil = 2 t pellets 1,000 m³ natural gas = 2 t pellets 1,000 l liquefied gas = 1.32 t pellets Advantages • Reduction in energy costs Heating cost comparison (reference = 1,000 l fuel oil)

The correct air budget is an often underestimated quality factor in surface treatment technology. Where heating, cooling, movement and filtration is concerned, a great deal of energy can be saved with innovative solutions. Supply air systems replace extracted air quantities and ensure: Supply and exhaust air systems Supply air systems ensure draught-free and clean ventilation of work rooms, while high-efficiency exhaust air systems with fans and filter systems are responsible for the necessary air exhaust. This takes place with the lowest possible use of energy and with the longest possible intervals between maintenance and cleaning operations. We also offer intelligent air solutions for dryers, pre-treatment plants and cooling zones. Heat recovery A further important point is heat recovery. We can achieve up to a maximum of 80% heat recovery with the most diverse systems. Cross-current, rotary heat exchanger, heating pipe or circulatory systems – they all have their own advantages and efficiencies, which we integrate according to requirements during the planning of the plant.

Oil-water-separation / degreasing bath treatment Treatment of oil-water-emulsions for surface treatment (e.g. pre-treatment of metal parts for ed-paint), recovery companies (e.g. for the treatment of alkaline emulsions for part washing), and so on. Separation of emulgated oil particles and recycling of the cleaned liquid into the degreasing bath Concentration of oil-water-emulsions for disposal Cleaning of the oil-water-mixture for indirect lead-in Principle of this process: Aqueous degreasing baths content a tenside combination, alkalines like soda, caustic soda, phosphate, silicate and further complex molecules. The degreasing bath is loosing its efficiency, when to oil content reaches some g / litre. External pollutions also degrease the degreasing efficiency. By ultrafiltration, the oil content can be separated from the degreasing bath and the oil will be collected in the concentrate. The degreasing bath will be dumped into a buffer tank and then pumped in the working tank of the

Recovery of acids and acidic rinse waters Additionally to the pickling bath treatment by microfiltration and ultrafiltration, the recovery of acid becomes more and more important. Additionally to sulphuric and hydrochloric acid, also mixed acids (HF / HNO3) can be recovered. The first step of the acid recovery is mostly a sludge separation by microfiltration. Downstream, diffusion dialysis, electrodialysis or nanofiltration is used for metal separation. For the treatment of rinse waters, OSMO Membrane Systems GmbH offers reverse osmosis or electrodialysis plants.

Large surface area coating can more cost effectively be accomplished using fewer, moving spray guns. Optimize your coating efficiencies with the flexible automation delivered by Venjakob Reciprocators. Nutro, our factory in the USA is the leader in gun drive technology. Large surface area coating can be cost effectively accomplished using fewer, moving spray guns. Products include short-stroke machines equipped with a crank arm type mechanical design (oscillators), most common in powder coating applications. These designs are impractical for long stroke machines (reciprocators) which have used a variety of drive systems including chain driven units, and other electronic systems. Nutro machines are respected for their robust design, high payload capacity and reliability. Since these spray gun drives often support a high payload of guns, hoses and accessories, a heavy duty design is desirable since these machines are often loaded beyond their rated capacity. Nutro’s machines are also cost-efficient and the simplicity of design makes them easy to service. While Nutro has frequently sold spray gun drives to end customers, more commonly Nutro spray gun drives are resold by other OEM manufacturers under a private label arrangement such as Nordson Corporation. Nutro has worked closely with these OEMs to design machines according to their budgets, specifications and preferences. The scope of delivery includes both standard spray gun drives which can be used in series machine lines as well as customer specific machines as required.

Venjakob has combined – for the first time in the industry – a robot with a surface spray painting machine. VEN SPRAY VARIO offers the flexibility of an industrial spray coating robot and the high output of an automatic surface spray coating machine. The outer edges of the parts are precisely coated by the robot, and the surfaces are sprayed "inline" at a constant throughfeed speed without any stopping or stop and go by the spray guns of the downstream linear axis. In comparison to the usual Cartesian robot systems on the market, this leads to an approx. 50 % higher lacquering performance(surface|minute). In addition, the new system technology optimises the surface quality, as it leads to visibly better results by linking the paint film at transitions from surfaces to outer edges. Another decisive system advantage of the VEN SPRAY VARIO is the ongoing guarantee of reproducible production qualities. The perfect finish of 3D workpieces is particularly impressive. For coating complex 3D parts as a stationary batch we recommend using the optionally available paper belt transport system. In addition to the described flexibility, the plant technology can also be used for surface coating only. As an alternative to a manual spraying station a single robot can be used for complex geometries. The technically sophisticated paint recovery system achieves maximum efficiency. The recyclability of the recovered overspray and the considerably reduced use of cleaning agents provide an impressive energy balance. In addition, the efficient ventilation technology noticeably reduces the resulting energy costs. The modular design ensures a safe investment in the long term. The integration of additional robots and other adjustments to meet the continuously growing demands on our customers' production processes are possible at any time.
