Due to its high resolution also when measuring long distances, linear displacement measurements up to 900 mm can be carried out. Conversions between rotatory and translation movements through ball screws, wire or cord connections and so on are not necessary for direct displacement measurement. Special processes are applied to give the resistance tracks low friction, low tendency to stick/slip, resistance to abrasion and long-term stability. The rod is guided in a low-play floating frontal bearing. This absorbs small angular and parallel displacements.

When processing long solid workpieces – rolled or rough turned – or processing large pipes, these benefits make for dramatic improvements in productivity. Round or rectangular – the results are equally impressive. In the BEHRINGER semi-automatic models, the material is positioned by eye, for instance with the aid of a line laser. For longer cut piece lengths, we recommend using a measuring device for precise positioning. The use of a feed gripper allows automatic sawing of solid material or pipes.

Permanent magnet transporters are used where switchable lifting magnets cannot be used due to insufficient material thickness. They are suitable for thin sheets from 2 mm and are less expensive than lifting magnets, but must be separated from the workpiece under tension by means of a forcing-off device. They are suitable for use in sheet metal storage, on flame or laser cutting equipment, on shears or punching machines, and in steel and container construction. Magnetic transporters of types SH and MK are not compatible with the latest European standard for lifting magnets. We recommend their use only in protected areas.
