Incremental rotation sensors are used wherever displacement, positions or speeds have to be measured accurately. High-precision pressure sensors from the 8201 series provide exact measurements while exhibiting very little sensitivity to mechanical stresses. Their application therefore goes well beyond research and development laboratories. They are also outstandingly suited to industrial use in quality assurance or for measurement and control tasks in production. Their robust mechanical and electrical construction guarantees good long-term stability and high reliability, while being resistant to aggressive media – which can be measured in liquid or gaseous states. The newly developed sensor PROFIBUS module model 9221 is predestined for the integration of various analog sensor output signals into complex, net worked and peripheral automation structures. This module finds its fields of application in the industrial automation technology as well as the test rig technology based on its secure and reliable transfer mode, the fast transfer speed and its simple construction. The inputs (e.g. PLC signal gauge) and outputs in addition to the external control allow a zero compensation by trigger via proximity switch or fast alerting on passing of set point values. Industrial type connection and mounting techniques enable the user the adaption and integration in the existing mechanical and electrical environment. The excellent quality of measurement together with the high grade capture of mean values also enable the application in research and development. The use of standardized PROFIBUS protocols makes the connection an easy task for the programmer.

When we refer nowadays to a potentiometer as a sensor, it is important to bear in mind the statements made here only apply if the potentiometer is connected as voltage divider rather than as a variable resistor (rheostat) (Fig. 2). The wiper voltage must be connected, free of load, to an operational amplifier such as a 741, OP 07 or some other component with a high input impedance. Fig. 3 explains the terms used, such as electrical and mechanical travel. L1 indicates the defined electrical travel. L2 indicates the continuity travel which also includes the non-linear connection fields Fig. 4. L3 indicates the total electrical contact travel of the potentiometer. L4 indicates the mechanical travel. An electrical potential need not be defined for the whole of this travel. Air insulated switching module incorporates a Tavrida Electric vacuum circuit breaker with a per phase actuator, housed in a corrosion resistant tank. Six main circuit bushings, made from UVstable polymer, are covered with silicone rubber bushing boots. Silos with a total height of upto 25 m and a diameter of 4.2 m are completely manufactured in the factory and transported by our specialized freight forwarders to installation site on time. Our qualified technicians carry out the mechanical and electrical installation. Afterwards we put the silo into operation.
