SYSTEM SOLUTIONS FOR SILAGE SILOS The Lipp dual seam system was and still is the basis for Lipp’s sustained success over the last few decades. Silage silos were already being built for agriculture with this system in the 1960s. The Lipp dual seam system is still employed today for the construction of silos and system solutions used for the storage of silage. In addition to pure container construction, system solutions for silage silos also include other components that go far beyond the scope of supply of a simple container manufacturer. APPLICATION EXAMPLES & REFERENCES Lipp system solutions for silage are used for storage and preservation of silage in an above ground, cylindrical container. Corresponding filling and extraction systems, roof and floor structures round off the scope of supply. A large number of the silage silos installed decades ago are still in operation today and provide proof of the high quality standard and extremely long service life.

Stainless steel is expensive. Verinox offers the same level of quality as the conventional material used for the construction of tanks and containers while using less stainless steel. With Verinox – the duplex material developed by Lipp – a sheet of stainless steel is joined to a sheet of galvanised steel by means of a separation layer. Three components form the basis for this material that is ideal for tank and container construction not only does it have outstanding physical properties but it also uses a reduced quantity of expensive stainless steel, resulting in lower costs. With this invention, Lipp has successfully retained the economic benefit of the LIPP Double Seam System while improving the material savings made. SYSTEM SOLUTIONS FOR THE STORAGE OF SLURRY Following the further development of the Lipp dual seam system and the container material it was possible not only to build silos for bulk materials, but also silos for the storage of liquids, such as liquid manure. Since slurry is also rather more aggressive and can attack concrete or similar vessels, especially over the years, Lipp always offers its system solutions for the storage of slurry in principle in V2A stainless steel (1.4301), when it is clear that the tank will remain open. Possible changes are also taken into account with the customer during the planning process and in case of a future modification of the slurry tank consideration is given to an alternative material (V4A) or the possibility of a subsequent roof construction. Thus, the container retains its flexibility and can later be converted into a fermenter, secondary fermenter or other container.

ON SITE PRODUCTION FLEXIBILITY WITH CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE DIMENSIONS Special circumstances and requirements often call for containers which cannot be produced using standard solutions. This is where special tanks and silos which can be adjusted to suit prevailing conditions and provide individual solutions are required. The LIPP System offers a variety of possible solutions to a wide range of problems in the form of welded or folded designs. Steplessly adjustable diameters and heights enable tank dimensions to be individually adapted to the prevailing conditions. In addition, on site installation only requires a minimal amount of space, for example enabling containers to be constructed in buildings or other situations where there is limited space available. Lipp offers liquid manure containers for farms of any size that not only make promises to provide safe and cost efficient storage but also keep those promises. Stainless steel may be the material of choice for constructing liquid manure containers but steel is expensive – and that is why Lipp uses Verinox, the material that it developed in house. A combination of galvanised steel sheet (for the outside of the container) and stainless steel sheet (for the inside of the container), Verinox offers all the benefits of a high quality material while enabling significant cost savings to be made at the same time. Permanent magnet transporters are used where switchable lifting magnets cannot be used due to insufficient material thickness. They are suitable for thin sheets from 2 mm and are less expensive than lifting magnets, but must be separated from the workpiece under tension by means of a forcing-off device. They are suitable for use in sheet metal storage, on flame or laser cutting equipment, on shears or punching machines, and in steel and container construction. Magnetic transporters of types SH and MK are not compatible with the latest European standard for lifting magnets. We recommend their use only in protected areas.

PP strapping represents approximately two-thirds of our production. We manufacture it as standard in widths 5-15 millimeters in black. On request, we will be happy to produce it for you in other colors as well.
