Cable Type Heaters have initially been developed and used for the safe operation in fertilizer plants. However nowadays, they cover a large range of applications due to their modular construction and minimum space requirements. They are suitable for heating up nearly all gases and liquids or superheating steam. They are mainly used in hazardous areas. Especially when processes require a combination of high power (in the MW range) high pressure and temperatures of up to 550°C cable type heaters are the means to choose.

Positive displacement blowers and single-stage screw compressors start up directly or following a star delta circuit if no gentle start or no frequency converter control are available. The unit is subjected to heavy mechanical load and requires high start-up current. For this reason, counterpressure must be reduced during the start-up phase; this is achieved by blowing off the increasing volume flow. The fully automatic medium-controlled STRATE relief valve EVA has been specially designed for this procedure. As well as not requiring any maintenance, the STRATE relief valve EVA is an extremely economical device for reducing load during start-up since there is no longer any need to use complex externally controlled valves or electronic start-up aids. The completely equipped electrical cylinder unit includes the motor transmission unit, along with the motor brake, two-channel Hall-IC sensor and two end-limit switches. All connection lines run directly out of the unit to make configuration and initial start-up easier, particularly for PLC operation. The fixation of the electric cylinder connections is compatible with commercial pneumatic and hydraulic cylinders.
