Compact Rail is a linear system consisting of steel linear rails with induction hardened raceways and high precision radial ball bearing sliders, also made of hardened steel. Thanks to their self-aligning capabilities, Compact Rail linear guides simplify the project, improve the performance and reduce the overall cost of application. Compact Rail linear guides are easy to install on all types of surfaces, including non-machined ones. Compact Rail linear guides feature a robust steel slider with ball bearings, self-centering heads with wipers, longitudinal seals to protect the internal components and a top sealing strip. The slider body is accurately finished with matte longitudinal edge chamfer and a shining ground flat surface. The slider heads are equipped with special slow release felt pads and are free to rotate with respect to the slider body, so that the felts are always in contact with the raceways to ensure optimal lubrication.

Compact Rail Plus linear guides feature double row ball bearings for higher load capacities and rigid rails with convex raceways and new robust steel sliders with longitudinal protection and floating wipers, Compact Rail Plus has been designed for the most demanding applications in terms of high load capacities, high dynamics and work environment. All while maintaining the self-aligning capabilities that make this product family unique. The profiled guide slide PFS is available in 5 series with sizes from 100 mm up to 425 mm width and strokes up to 2000 mm. To protect them against dirt accumulations, the slides are covered with bellow covers. Other covers on request. The slides are available in aluminium (nature anodized), or casted iron GGK-25. Optional steel C-45. The ball thread spindle drives are available in the qualities T5 and T7 with spindle pitches from 5 to 50 mm. The highest accuracy class “Ultra-Precision plus” impresses with an accuracy of 0.0005 mm, thus 0.5 µm. Due to the fact that the control unit of the Föhrenbach slides is compatible with the interfaces of almost all measuring systems, this extraordinary repeatability does not depend on a particular system or a specific provider. Föhrenbach profiled guide slides with integrated linear motor are available in the series PFL (with bellows covers) and PCL (with sheet metal covers). For both series three sizes are available. Application The VD2 is designed to reface valve seats of the engines of trucks. heavy construction vehicles and small ships. Features The VD2 refaces the valve seat in a lathe-type facing action. The tool head includes two inclined slideways for refacing 30° and 45° valve seats. A single point turning tool is clamped to tool slide guided in the respective slideway. When the VD2 is rotated around the pilot by hand, the turning tool travels in a circle around the valve seat with continuous outward transverse feed motion under the correct seat angle. A steady rest which is mounted on the cylinder head stabilizes the VD2 below the crank handle. The steady rest eliminates runout when rotating the VD2 around the pilot. As a result, the seat is refaced to concentricity with the valve guide under the correct seat angle.
