Potato Starch is made from cleaned Potato powder, filtered, precipitated, and dried with the resulting precipitate. It can be used as a thickening agent.

Potato starch is used as a thickening agent in a variety of food products, including soups, sauces, and baked goods. Its ability to bind water is an advantage here for food manufacturing and product development. Potato starch is also used as a binder in the production of sausages and as a stabilizer in dairy products. Potato starch can be used in the following products: Dough products such as bread, pasta, cookies, and also in other products such as candy, canned vegetables, meat products, convenience foods, and as animal feed.

"Organic Potato Flakes The potato (solanum tuberosum) is a plant that grows underground. The potato originally comes from South America, but nowadays it is grown in many European countries. Potatoes are cut and dried after harvesting, leaving flakes. Potato Purée Potato flakes are flat pieces of dried potato purée. The potatoes are first boiled and then mashed, after which they are flattened by large rollers in a drum. Because the potato flakes are quickly dried to the desired moisture content, the dried mashed potato flakes are then scraped off the drum and broken through a mill sieve. Because the flakes easily absorb (cold) water , these potato flakes are often used in food products. The potato starch retains its high absorption capacity because the flakes are rapidly dehydrated."

The BIO-POT®-straws are 69 % bio-based on starch (potatoes) and fibers and 31% on minerals, calcium and magnesium. They are completely biodegradable and quickly compost in industrial composting plants. The plasticizer-free, mineral oil free thermoplastic material contains a high portion of biologically sourced and genetically unchanged raw materials. Thus, the BIO-POT®-straws make a decisive contribution towards reducing strain on the environment. Only usable for beverages up to 30 Grad C. Durability ca. 18-21 month in dry environment under propper storage conditions. The BIO-POT®-straws can be incinerated without residues and are also recyclable. Made in the EU, the raw material for the straw production originates from Germany. Available in the colors black and white - 500 pcs per bag as straight or flexible straw and in different diameters and lengths. Packed either in polybags or in the semi-transparent and also bio-degradable “Compost OK” bag.
