Liquids (for instance raw materials or end products) are stored in canisters, drums, IBC containers or storage tanks. Solids and bulk materials, on the other hand, are stored in bags, big bags, silos or various special containers. IFA Technology offers sound and safe handling for the storage of liquids, solids and bulk materials as well as suitable storage containers such as customised shelves, tank farms or silo systems. We check and control among other things the compatibility of the substances, the effect of environmental influences as well as the conformity with legal requirements. We ensure compliance with various regulations such as the German Water Resources Act (WHG) or Explosive Atmospheres Directive (ATEX) by means of temperature-controlled storage tanks and the blanketing of the relevant substances by means of nitrogen, dry air or gas displacement systems or their circulation via agitators or circulation.

In order to meet your requirements when mixing liquid and solid substances, our plants and systems enable the mixing of combinations in virtually any state of aggregation. IFA Technology is your competent partner for the right process - no matter if you want to mix liquids with liquids, solids with solids or liquids with solids or gases. We develop a wide range of applications for the production of the respective product - whether homogeneous or heterogeneous mixtures, suspensions, temporary liquid-liquid dispersions, emulsions using lipophilic and hydrophilic liquids or the mixing of bulk materials such as powders, granulates or flakes.

The weighing of liquids and solids is always implemented by IFA Technology according to your requirements - with load cells and evaluation devices from all the well-known suppliers. Liquid and solid substances can be weighed in their own storage containers, such as drums, containers, silos or tanks, but also in mixing tanks, storage containers or other containers. High-precision weight measurement makes it possible to weigh the components within the desired tolerances directly in the container or to measure them by loss-in-weight, and as a result achieve gravimetric dosing. As an alternative to gravimetric dosing, we use volumetric dosing of solids or liquids, depending on the requirements of the substances and processes. For volumetric dosing, we use the methods customary on the market, such as Coriolis mass flow measurement, magnetic-inductive flow measurement, ultrasonic measurement and counter measurement as well as belt scale measurement or impact scale measurement.

At IFA Technology we use all types of pumps available on the market for conveying liquids. We consider all necessary requirements for the safe and reliable conveyance of your products. Solids can be conveyed mechanically, pneumatically and hydraulically. For mechanical conveying, screws, conveyor belts, elevators, vibratory troughs or tube chain conveyors are used. Pneumatic conveying is mainly applied in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries as well as for conveying granulates in plastics processing and the food industry. The pneumatic conveyance process is carried out by suction and compressed air, i.e. by vacuum or positive pressure, and is mainly used when sensitive substances are transported. Heavy substances such as cement, sand or gravel are mainly transported by positive pressure.

The unit for the liquid/liquid extraction operates in a countercurrent flow and is designed as a pulsed column with sieve trays and packing material alternatively. The working principle of this unit is based on the fact, that the two liquid phases are pressed through the holes of each sieve tray or through the packing respectively, forced by the used pulsation, thus one phase will be dispersed into the other. The large contact surface which will be formed by this specific design, makes the product exchange between the two phases highly efficient. During the return travel of the pulsator, the drops previously dispersed are agglomerating into a homogeneous phase. The light phase will be fed into the system at the lower end of the column, while the heavy phase is entering the tower at the upper end. Due to the gravitation, supported by the said pulsation, both phases are passing the column in countercurrent way and are withdrawn at the opposite ends.

For liquidliquidextraction according to the MixerSettlerprinciple, design acc. to Dr. E. Müller (Lurgi). With screw stirrer for intensive mixing of the phases, especially suited for metallic salt extraction. Pumping capacity and residence times are changed by adjusting the stirrer speed. An additional advantage of the unit is the application for extractions during which reactions of considerable density changes occur. Typical applications for this universal apparatus are metal salt extractions mixtures with low surface tension if the dispersed phase coalesces with difficulty if variation in residence time of the phases occur in the extraction stages if reactions are expected during the extraction process if considerable changes in density are expected as a result of extraction

Scientists and chemical engineers still measure phase equilibria despite the significant improvement in theoretical evaluations. Therefore, our phase equilibrium apparatus is part of the standard equipment in chemical engineering laboratories. The vapourliquid equilibrium of binary and multicomponent mixtures constitute an essential basis for the determination of the theoretical plates necessary for the evaluation of separation processes. Although VLEdata are known from literature, there is still an increasing tendency towards redetermining equilibrium data by experiments, because the thermodynamic parameters like pressure, temperature and concentrations are different or inadequate. For designing e.g. extractive distillation processes the evaluation of vapourliquidliquid phase equilibria (VLLEdata) are required. The practical measurement and determination of these data proves difficult with the standardised VLEunits because of the phase formation of the liquids.

To improve the filtration performance, the innovative filter solution FIBALON®skimmy is recommended. This rugged and reliable liquid ring compressor expaned the NASH Vectra compressor range with a model that operates at up to 4 bar G (60 PSIG). 120 - 5300 CFM / 195 to 9,000 m³/h The NASH Vectra was designed around a modular platform using the most advanced computer aided design techniques, such as 3D solid modeling and finite element analysis (FEA). The modular platform offers the advantage of two versions with numerous common parts. The Vectra GL model, available from 120 to 830 CFM (200 to 1,500 m³/hr), is ideal for general industrial applications. It comes standard with internal mechanical seals and many Nash patented innovations including gas scavenging. The Vectra XL model was designed to meet the stringent requirements of many CPI applications. Whether operating as a vacuum pump or compressor, it features a 30 PSI (2 bar) differential capability. 3000 - 16000 CFM / 5,100 to 27,200 m³/h The NASH 905 is a redesign and upgrade of the NASH 904. Capacities of the 904 pumps range upward from about 3,000 CFM at vacuum. These durable compressors can handle excess liquid carryover without any difficulty, even if it arrives as massive slugs. 904 compressors are found in many industries, including Paper, Chemical, and Mining. The 905 series has been designed to provide superior reliability and performance in harsh applications such as chemical processing or geothermal power generation. Constructed of 316L stainless steel, the 905 series offers excellent corrosion resistance and can be outfitted with a variety of mechanical seals. It also includes a patented gas scavenging feature.
