The danger of electrostatic charges must always be observed when loading, unloading or handling bulk solids or inflammable liquids in the petrochemical, chemical, gas, as well as in the food and feed industry. For application with containers, IBCs, barrels or trays, the EKX-4 (2-pole) is the Grounding Control Device to choose. APPLICATION AREAS: EKX-4 (2-pole) is mounted stationary, close to the loading/unloading gantry. It is used in gas and dust hazardous areas of zone 1 and 21 for objects to be grounded, that cannot be detected by the standard 1-pole Grounding Control Device EKX-4 such as containers, IBCs or barrels. Further areas of application are the grounding of materials handled with trays on conveyors in automated industrial processes.

The Overfill Prevention Controller EUS-2 is the central part of the overfill prevention system according to European VOC Directive 94/63/EC and American API RP 1004. EUS-2 monitors the level sensors at the tanker compartments, the truck grounding and the vapor recovery connection. The filling process is interrupted immediately at the loading gantry, if a critical situation is detected. The controller is able to detect the type of truck installation and activates the required operatingmode automatically. This interoperability allows to load trucks of different carriers.

During loading and unloading inflammable liquids or solids an explosive gas and dust atmosphere may arise – a single spark can be sufficient to initiate an explosion. To prevent this, the occurring electrostatic charges must be discharged safely. TIMM’s Grounding Control Devices ensure static electricity is discharged to the ground by a grounding cable and continuously monitor the grounding quality. If there is an interruption of the grounding connection, the filling process will be interrupted immediately.

Pallet based automated car parking system RESPACE Pallet based technology The pallet based automated car parking system RESPACE is an interesting solution for creating up to 50 parking spaces. Drivers park their car on a pallet in a cabin. The cabin is the only interface between the driver and the car park. From this point everything is automatic. The door of the cabin closes and the car is transported downwards by lift. From there the car standing on the pallet is brought to a free parking space via roller conveyors. The pallet based parking system RESPACE is characterized by a very compact design. From the lift the pallets with the vehicles are moved directly to adjacent parking spaces. Car parking and removal follows according the puzzle principle. The car park has 60 parking spaces and is used as a hotel car parking, but also available to the public.

Palletless automated car parking system CUBILE Palletless technology The palletless fully automated car parking system CUBILE is a perfect solution for creating from 50 to over 1000 parking spaces. As no pallets are used for transporting cars, the system is very fast and efficient. Drivers park their car at ground level in one of the entrance cabins and receive a parking ticket. The cabin is the only interface between the driver and the car park. From this point everything is automatic. The cabin’s rolling gate closes and the car is transported below ground in a lift before it is collected by one of horizontal transfer vehicles and brought to a free parking space. In the palletless parking system CUBILE, the Lödige Shifter does the heavy lifting. This is an ultra-flat robot that drives underneath the car and lifts it up at the wheels to take it from the lift to the transfer vehicle and transport it to the parking space.

SEK-3 establishes a monitored equipotential bonding of very low resistance between ship and pier which counteracts the physical effect of electrical potential difference. This explosion protection measure prevents uncontrolled sparking when handling conductive elements at the terminal. In addition, the SEK-3 signals unsafe situations (such as over-voltage or over-current caused by active sources) by flashing LEDs and switching off the corresponding control outputs.

Uncontrolled electrostatic discharges when handling highly flammable or explosive media often cause personal injuries and damage to equipment. The dual-color indicator lamp signals the correct grounding state. The integrated contacts allow an enable circuit to be implemented.

The TERRACAP TCB040 grounding system is used to ground tanker trucks. If a connection has sufficient low resistance when the grounding clamp is attached, the device discharges electrostatic charges safely via a resistor preventing spark discharge. The device then checks the capacity detected at the clamp. If the capacity for the tanker truck is correct, a green display lights up and the interlocking relay enables the pumping process. The device then forms a low-resistance connection to the ground, which prevents further build-up of electrostatic charges.

Personnel grounding tester PGT120: Electronic test apparatus for checking personnel grounding systems such as electrostatic wrist straps and conductive footwear. The unit is equipped with two separate measuring circuits and is therefore capable of checking wrist straps and footwear separately or in parallel. The active Eltex grounding clamps from the TERRACLAMP and the 70 series are used together with the TERRALIGHT and the Terra-Control TUE30 ground monitoring system to establish and monitor grounding connections. These devices are used when decanting or filling potentially explosive substances. Existing electrostatic changes are discharged effectively in a controlled manner. The active grounding clamps from the TERRA-C/S, TERRA-C/B, 70AG, 70BG, 70CG (only for TCB040), 70AK and 70HK series feature extremely hard and sharp collet jaws. The jaws also feature a continuously high clamping force, ensuring a secure connection to the equipotential bonding at all times. The standard version of the grounding clamps includes a plug-in-connector for an easy connection to the included grounding cable, spiral cable and rewinding cable reels.

Technical information Axial grooving is among the most technically difficult machining process in the whole field of metal removal. In this process the chip, once removed, must overcome not just the shaping of the material but also the circular movement. It is particularly important that the machining should always commence at the outer diameter of the axial groove as tool stability is in direct proportion to the diameter. It is preferable for the tool to be used underneath the work-piece so that the chips can fall downwards without obstruction. Tool systems The S System is a modular tool system which offers innumerable possibilities to the user. The cutting tips for this system are ground to a sharp edge and produce an excellent surface quality. It goes without saying that the cutting tips can be supplied with all required corner radii. The RC System is screw clamped; the cutting tip is securely clamped into position so that it cannot fall out. When rough turning, grooving depths of up to 100 mm are standard. When turning larger diameters we are also able to achieve grooving depths of 150 mm.
