Sensors of the IFE family with a length of up to 900 mm are used to detect large metallic objects and offer a switching distance of up to 180 mm. The sensors are very robust, water-tight according to IP 68 and thus also suitable for outdoor use. The proximity switches are based on the proven inductive principle and switch con tactless when a metallic object moves close. Sensors of the family replace several inductive sensors connected in series. With their large sensor surface the reliably detect large moving metal parts. The sensors check for example the reinforcement in cast concrete parts during quality control or report the presence of railway rails for onward transport.

EGE amplifier for inductive proximity sensors complement the EGE sensors for extreme conditions from 200° C and the variants for -80° C. They are used for switching point adjustment and provide functional and output indications as well as the output signals. They also provide the 24 V DC power supply. The devices can be set up intuitively using a potentiometer. The analysis devices are suitable for top-hat rail assembly in a control cabinet. For 250° C-high temperature sensors a cable amplifier is available.

Inductive proximity switches of this product family cope with the most difficult environmental influences found during offshore use. The proximity switches are based on the conventional inductive principle and switch when a metallic object moves close. Contactless positioning tasks in seawater environments or even below the sea level require special properties, such as a high IP class, high pressure and impact resistance and seawater resistance. These properties are achieved by, for example, using materials such as stainless steel 1.4571, longitudinally watertight and seawater-proof cables or even a one-piece stainless steel housing. Sensors of this series can be used at a water depth of up to 300 m.

The EGE IGEX family comprises intrinsically safe sensors for use in zone 0/20. The EGE IGEX proximity switches are based on the conventional inductive principle and switch when a metallic object comes close. This family also includes sensors climatic proofed and high pressure cleaning proof for use at extreme ambient temperatures up to + 140° C and down to -60 ° C with protection class IP 68 IP 69. The sensors are certified according to ATEX and IECEx. They are suited in the area of explosive dust and gas atmospheres for presence verification, position and movement monitoring and the counting of objects and the speed control on conveyor belts.

The optical level switches are ideal for the detection of fluids with low DK value, such as lubrication oil, hydrocarbons or solvents. Optical level sensors detect the change of the refractive index during medium contact at the sensor tip. The sensors with stainless steel housing and glass tip are also suited for the detection of aggressive media, such as solvents. the sensors are available with Ex certification according to ATEX and IECEx.

EGE amplifiers process the signals of the EGE filling level sensors for extreme temperatures at a safe distance and are used to set up the sensor via intuitive operation using potentiometer and LED strip. Amplifiers for EGE high temperature limit switches feature an auto-calibration of the switching point at the press of a button. EGE amplifiers provide switching signals or analogue signals, dependent on the device.

EGE flow rate sensors for the flow rate detection of 0...1 l/min feature one-piece measuring tubes with an inner diameter of 3.5 mm to 4 mm from highly resistant stainless steel V4A (1.4571). For particularly aggressive media EGE offers special materials, such as bronze, Hastelloy, titanium or even PTFE. The devices can either be set up intuitively using a potentiometer and LED indications or easily programmed using buttons and a multi-segment display. EGE flow rate sensors can be installed in hoses or circuits with small pipe diameters using threaded fittings or compression fittings. The provide excellent measuring results wherever the safe, robust and low-maintenance monitoring of low flows is required.

EGE amplifier for Ex proximity switches complement the intrinsically safe EGE sensors. They are used for switching point adjustment and provide functional and output indications as well as the output signals. They also provide the 30 V DC or 127 V AC or 230 V AC power supply. The devices can be set up intuitively using a potentiometer and have a cable break and short circuit monitoring feature. The NC/NO contact output functions can be adjusted. The analysis devices are intended for top-hat rail assembly in a control cabinet in the non-explosive area.

EGE flow sensors for gaseous mediums without integrated amplifier permit the space-saving flow measurement on site and the comfortable setting of the limit value using separate amplifier, e.g. within a control cabinet. The measurement takes place without mechanically moving parts using a thermal measuring element. The current flow state is displayed at the amplifier using LEDs. The devices are used wherever a safe, robust and low-maintenance monitoring of flow values is required. This includes e.g. air conditioning technology, monitoring of exhaust air systems and ventilation monitoring.

EGE offers ultrasonic sensors with up to 600 cm distance from the medium surface, ultrasonic sensors for applications in humid environments in protection class IP 68, IP 69, and ultrasonic sensors in small compact designs. Ultrasonic sensors continuously issue an ultrasonic pulse. The ultrasonic signal is reflected at the medium surface. The filling level is continuously calculated from the runtime of the echo of an ultrasonic pulse. The sensors output PNP switching signals or a 4...25 mA signal. Ultrasonic sensors are particularly suited for applications where no media contact with the sensor is desired or the sensor cannot be installed from the side or in the immediate vicinity of the medium for design reasons.

ODE infrared detectors detect the infrared radiation of hot objects from 300° C to 2000 ° C. EGE ODE infrared detectors are designed for use under extreme conditions up to 350° C with optic fibre cables and attachment optics. The sensors provide a 4...20 mA output and have an additional freely adjustable switching threshold for the PNP switching output or relay output. The detectors are, for example, used to measure and monitor process temperatures in e.g. metal processing or glass manufacture.

Conductive level monitor for the detection of conductive media. With this sensor, the resistance between two electrodes is measured. If a medium shorts both electrodes, the resistance decreases and a switching signal is generated. Buildup is no problem for this sensor.
