Micanite is a kind of insulation paper which is impregnated with a heat resistant binder and afterwards pressed in several shifts under heat and high pressure to plates. This material is heat resistant up to 350 °C, as special construction (Phlogopit) up to 450 °C, and is used for the wire wound formers as well as for the encapsulating cover plates of mica surface heaters. Because of the typical "sandwich"-construction of Micanite Flat Heating Elements and their high watt density it is necessary to use a platen to press the mica heater onto the surface to be heated. Established on the market for round Flat Heating Elements are some standard dimensions (Ø 58 / Ø 65 / Ø 80 / Ø 100 / Ø 160 / Ø 260 mm). But normally Micanite Surface Heating Elements are constructed on customer's request. Mica heaters can be metal sheathed for higher mechanical stability. This makes the heater flexible, so that it is also possible to build a band heater.

Pneumatic Rotational Clamping Holding torque 76 Nm Direct clamping on the shaft: Rotation motions are prevented by the ACE models LOCKED R. Their clamping elements are available for shaft diameters of 50 to 340 mm and ensure maximum holding forces. The clamp is immediately applied by the diaphragm and spring-plate system when pressure is lost. Pneumatic quick-switch valves reduce the reaction times. The costs are low in comparison with hydraulic clamping systems. Their performance is, however, achieved or exceeded despite the compact and easy to assemble design. Special versions for YRT bearings as well as active clamping elements are additionally available. ACE recommends the use of the optional shaft flange as wear protection. The clamping force can be increased considerably by the use of the additional air function.

The ContiRoll® press is the core element of the forming and press line and at the same time the focus of Siempelkamp’s innovations. More than 300 presses have been sold to all parts of the world since its launch 30 years ago. The concept has been continuously developed by Siempelkamp ever since, especially product quality, user friendliness and resource eciency. The exible infeed section adjusts to the formed mat in dependence on the recipe thus oering an optimal combination of a quick pressure build-up and a reliable evacuation of air from the mat. The booster heater integrated in the infeed end transfers a maximum of thermal energy into the mat. Very fast pressure and temperature build-up ensure an optimal density prole and excellent physical properties of the engineered board. Today, the 8th ContiRoll® generation is in use. It oers almost isobaric pressure distribution. Patented pressure distribution plates ensure consistent pressure in working direction acting on the product.
