The Gneuss Processing Unit (GPU) is a modular configuration of different Gneuss products and technologies, which are combined in to a high performance extrusion line for the manufacturing of high quality products.

The LEAX planetary gearboxes in the LPG25 and LPG40 series are helical planetary gearboxes with particularly smooth running. This makes them ideally suited for use in smoothing units and calender systems in the plastics industry. Thanks to the LEAX LPG gearboxes, plastic sheets can be produced without chatter marks, which are used in displays of all kinds. LPG gearboxes are available as 2, 3 or 4-stage versions with a wide range of transmission ratios.

Because we use our own extrusion lines we are in a position to produce polystyrene sheets in a maximum width of 1200 mm and theoretically in an infinite length in high-gloss decorative finishes, timber designs or metal decors. The thickness of the sheets can be selected within the range 0.8 mm - 4.0 mm in 0.1 mm increments. All the decorative sheets are film-protected and can be corona-treated on the reverse. The corona coating serves as a bonding agent to facilitate pressure-bonding of the decorative sheets.

This setup with servo-driven presses from 240 kN to 7,000 kN can take the place of a single large press with a progressive die. Our press line with synchronised servo transfer is compact, fast and affordable. Unlike large presses from other manufacturers, our line does not need its own press pit. The DAIL fulfils the requirements of EN 1114-1 for overpressure protection of extrusion lines and offers maximum comfort of operation. The auto-zero function enables calibration directly on the device or from the observation point/controller. On the output side, the melt pressure transmitter provides a switch output in addition to the analog signal which enables switching off the machine in case of overpressure according to EN 13849-1, PL=c.
