WDI's welding wire production at the Hamm/Westf. and Rothenburg/Saale /Wettin.Löbejün) sites can look back on a history of almost 50 years. Unalloyed and low-alloyed inert gas and submerged arc wire electrodes have been manufactured at WDI's main plant in Hamm/Westphalia since 1975 and at WDI in Rothenburg in central Germany since 1993. Production at both sites was gradually expanded and today, with a production capacity of up to 60,000 tonnes p.a., is one of the largest production facilities for welding wires in Europe. There is hardly a steel processing company in Germany or Europe that is not familiar with the wire electrodes from Hamm and Rothenburg. Metalworking companies are increasingly looking for practical solutions on how to quickly and easily carry out welding tasks. For small quantities, however, automation systems for welding have so far been difficult to implement, from an economical point of view. At the same time, it is becoming increasingly difficult to find qualified welders for manual processing. OTC DAIHEN EUROPE has developed EASY ARC, a new mobile welding robot system for workshop operation, which meets the economic and pragmatic requirements. EASY ARC includes a compact welding robot with intuitive OTC Easy-Teach control, which offers the operator with the perfect weld seam, thanks to the integrated expert system and manufacturer’s own 400A MIG / MAG power source inverter. The robot is mounted on a welding table that is prepared for holding standard clamping elements and equipped with rollers. The simple conversion of the system thus ensures appropriate flexibility in production.

With the new model BX200X, Kawasaki Robotics is responding to the increasing demands of the European market - among others in the areas of spot welding and handling: The BX200X offers the same performance, hollow wrist design and load capacity of 200 kg as the BX200L - but extends the effective reach of the robot from 2,597 mm to 3,412 mm. A decisive advantage: The configuration of the BX200X is largely based on the BX200L and BX300L models - so the existing BX spare parts can also be used for the new model. Like the other robots of the B series, the BX200X also offers maximum performance on short distances, as is required especially for the automation of spot welding processes.“
