Balsam Fir Absolute (Abies balsamea) Balsam fir absolute, also known as Abies balsamea, is extracted from the balsam resin found in the bark of this particular fir tree. This divine product is used in perfumery, cosmetics and aromatherapy. Method : Absolute is obtained from concrete by re-extraction with a solvent using pure alcohol (ethanol) in which the unwanted waxes are poorly dissolved.
