Les fibres optiques de la série Optorange sont développées et fabriquées en interne par SNT. Elles sont utilisées pour le comptage, la détection et le contrôle dans des espaces restreints et/ou des conditions environnementales sévères. Elles sont disponibles en standard avec des sections de 0.2 à 6 mm² sur des longueurs comprises entre 250 et 5000 mm. Elles fonctionnent avec les cellules photoélectriques SNT. L’utilisation de fibres optiques permet la détection de petits objets dans des espaces restreints. L’amplificateur étant séparé de la tête de détection, celle-ci est de faible dimension. La durée de vie et la robustesse des fibres optiques en verre sont beaucoup plus grandes que pour les fibres en plastique. Leur plus faible coefficient d’atténuation autorise des longueurs de fibres plus importantes. Durus S500 is proving increasingly popular with designers, contractors and project owners. This synthetic macro-fibre has shown to be a valid alternative to conventional steel fibre reinforcement. With no need to change existing designs, a concrete mix using steel fibres can be replaced by a mix containing Durus S500 macro fibres. The workability will remain unchanged and often even be improved. Typical applications include the production of concrete tunnel segments and other precast concrete elements. The use of Durus S500 instead of steel fibres eliminates any risk of injuries to manufacturing operatives during dosing, de-moulding and handling of precast elements. Compliance with health & safety requirements during the production process and on the construction site are thus greatly improved.

Contrary to dyes, pigments are insoluble. Therefore, pigments remain under the form of small particles and will just be dispersed in the carrier and so colouring the carrier. The colouring capacity of the pigment depends on the fineness of the particles composing the pigment. In general we can say that the finer the particles are, the higher the colouring capacity of the pigment will be.
