    Oxxynova provides distillative recycling of chemical side streams and is specialised in the distillation of glycol (1, 4-butanediol– BDO, MEG, DEG and TEG), as well as solvents such as methanol, tetrahydrofuran or ethanol in the context of the German Circular Economy Act. The company has also produced dimethyl terephthalate, or DMT, a precursor for technical plastics such as polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) or polyethylene terephthalate (PET) polyesters for 40 years. DMT is also used in the production of 1, 4-cyclohexanedimethanol (CHDM), and in the production of phthalate-free plasticisers such as dioctyl terephthalate (DOTP). Oxxynova is the sole supplier of DMT in liquid and solid form, not only for the European but also for the global plastics industry. With approval from the German Federal Institute of Occupational Safety and Health on 2nd and 9th April 2020, Oxxynova also offers ethanol-based disinfectants for hands (83%) and surfaces (80%) in accordance with the WHO formula.
