On 1st October 1850, Wilhelm Schlemming founded his engraving and coining company. The varied history of company started with coining of medals, hand engraving, embroidery and signature templates. Favoured by its location in Bielefeld, a town with a tradition of laundry and linen, the production of cardboard and metal templates for textile blanking began. In following years, the company developed into an technical wholesaler for the areas of cutting, design and production. Today, its wide delivery programme has more than 15, 000 items.
