The Herrmann Ultraschall vent applicator is a fast-acting module with a compact footprint, which is used for the most varied aroma-protecting and degassing vents in packaging. Thanks to the integrated cutter, it is possible to perform two operating steps by one tool and thus within one station. Its compact type allows for ease of integration in existing machines.

The weld tools safely seal the foil even with fine coffee residues present within the sealing zone. This complete solution consists of an ultrasonic generator, stack, guiding rail, force build-up and drive system. The compact, modular design allows for implementation of multi-lane, space-optimized solutions. In this concept it is possible to separately adjust parallel feed and sealing force for each lane. As a result optimum sealing results can be achieved.

With zippers it is possible to realize simple bag packages with re-sealing option. With the Zipper Crush module, Herrmann Ultrasonic provides a suitable solution for many different types of zippers, for fixing the zipper ends at the left and right sides of the bag by means of spot welding. Tools with high-quality finishing in combination with heavy-duty generators ensure great output quantity.

In order to make use of the many benefits of ultrasonic welding, Herrmann Ultraschall realizes special solutions for many other packaging variants. Thanks to long-term experience in terms of key functions, such as guiding, movement travel, drive, and force build-up, it is possible to implement customer requirements, such as cycle time, and space specifications in a targeted and efficient way.

Heavy-duty ultrasonic generators for intermittent applications - The digital ULTRAPLAST product line is available in frequencies of 20 kHz, 30 kHz, and 35 kHz at a power range between 900 W and 6200 W. Programmable ramp up and ramp down times and infinitely variable adjustment of weld amplitudes are only some of the features of this product line. The ULTRAPLAST digital ultrasonic generator is integrated in all Herrmann Ultraschall series machines and systems.

Versatile generators for intermittent and continuous packaging applications - The fully digital ULTRAPACK ultrasonic generator is designed for use with fast-operating packaging machines. Its manifold software functions allow for repeticious control of the weld process resulting in highest possible sealing quality. The ULTRAPACK digital is an integral part of the PACKLINE modules by Herrmann Ultraschall.

Continuous ultrasonic power generators for continuous applications - The digital ultrasonic generator technology of the ULTRABOND product line is specifically designed for continuous weld processes with continuous power ranges of up to 8000 W. A DSP (Digital Signal Processor) compensates for fault effects and ensures repeatable ultrasonic output at a duty cycle of 100%. The ULTRABOND digital ultrasonic generator is used with the MICROBOND and EASYBOND systems by Herrmann Ultraschall.

The optimum oscillation behavior of the ultrasonic sonotrodes is determined by means of FEM (Finite Element Method) calculation. Highest precision requirements in terms of CAD/CAM calculation algorithms guarantee precise 3D contours for sonotrode manufacturing. Measuring and documentation of the amplitude distribution is performed at the vibrating sonotrode using state-of-the-art laser measurement technology. Special surface finishings result in even longer service life spans of the ultrasonic sonotrodes.

Depending on production environment conditions, ultrasonic converters are available with protection ratings of IP50, IP65, and IP67. For rotating operation, a series of ultrasonic converters with integrated HF connection for rotary couplers has been developed. What all ultrasonic converters have in common is their central assembly with solid piezoceramic four-disk technology. The rigid decoupling principle allows for axial and transverse forces. Special manufacturing processes ensure extremely long service life at constant output amplitude.

For frequency values of 20, 30, and 35 kHz ultrasonic boosters with different gain ratios (transformation) are available. All ultrasonic boosters are made of high-quality titanium. Depending on the required demands, they are installed using rigid or flexible support rings.
