Fully automated ultrasonic module cells are integrated in complete production lines. The design and type of the transport system used depends on customized specifications. Within the cell it is possible to implement modular arrangement of several operating stations. The ultrasonic actuators of the SLIMLINE product line are characterized by their extremely slim design and their large variant diversity. These ultrasonic actuator types are available in frequencies of 20, 30, and 35 kHz. A compact console structure, precise guiding systems and variable drive units are a solid basis for repeatable weld results. In combination with Herrmann weld process controls, the system is used for customized integration solutions in automation.

The 35 kHz COMPACTLINE are well suited for multi-head work spaces and are frequently also used in robot automation due to their low weight. The extremely small dimensions allow for closely spaced arrangement of several units. Depending on the selected stack, various types are available. A number of different drive variants in terms of cylinder diameter and stroke are provided.

The ultrasonic actuators of the TWINLINE product line are used for solving weld tasks with a Herrmann Ultrasonic 20 kHz twin sonotrode. The finely tuned twin-stack is mounted on a carriage. The construction and design principle allows for large weld forces and high precision. This product line also provides a number of variants.

The patented MicroGap control also allows for precise gap stabilization for this module concept and ensures uniform weld quality. The rotational weld module is particularly suited for gentle welding of fluffy or intermittently fed materials. The precise support technology of the ULTRASPIN module with the high concentric running precision of the rotary sonotrode ensures consistent product quality and high manufacturing speed.

The EASYBOND product line has been designed for simple, continuous welding applications for nonwoven materials and web material. The features of the ultrasonic modules are precisely adapted to customer requirements. Its flexible design allows for upgrade to MICROBOND technology.

The focus is on intermittent sealing of top seals, e.g. of stand-up pouches, despite any product residues present. The vibration of the ultrasonic tool allows for obtaining reliable joint quality despite dusty or pasty filling contents. Burns caused to the packaging material during machine downtimes are safely prevented. The Herrmann SUP module is optimally suited for integration in new machinery or as retrofit in existing machine designs. Designing the module as IP67 variant, the top seal module is also suitable for wash down.

This precisely guided system safely and quickly seals through product residues in the seal area. Narrow seals and reduced head space above the product contents save packaging materials. Operational costs are significantly reduced while the quality of products is ensured. Elements, such as film pusher units, temperature adjustment of weld tools, and special solutions for machines with lateral fold-open equipment, are optionally available.

The longitudinal seal modules for FIN and overlap seals represent high-quality, continuously manufactured seals for bags (horizontal and vertical) and chained bags. Easy sealing tool change allows for customized and material-saving seam design. Precise and easily accessible adjustment elements, as well as electronic force adjustment allow for highest-level sealing results. For applications with increased requirements to cleaning, a special housing has been designed that protects the unit during wash-down.
