Steel housing. Nitrile rubber seal. Preloaded highaccuracy bearings with a 60° thrust angle. The bearings accept both radial and axial forces from both directions. Due to their preload, the angular contact ball bearings provide a high level of stiffness, excellent concentricity, precise tool positioning and repeatability. Because of the spherical outer surface of the bearing, shaft misalignment can be compensated for. The bearings are manufactured with a plus tolerance. This results in transition or press fits when using shafts with htolerances. The shaft is secured by grub screws on the inner ring. In normal applications, pillow block bearings are maintenancefree due to the lifetime lubrication. In difficult environmental conditions relubrication can be carried out over the grease nipple. All housing dimensions are nominal dimensions for which the usual casting tolerances must be taken into consideration.

This bearing consists of: a lower part (base) of steel in which a cylindrical case is obtained to house the rubber disc (elastomeric bearing); a rubber disc housed inside the base; an upper part (piston) that is inserted in the case of the lower part.

The Neoarm series includes structural bearings of reinforced elastomer, consisting of an elastomeric block in which steel laminates hot vulcanized to the rubber are inserted on multiple laminates, with the main purpose of minimizing the swelling and slipping of the rubber under load. Neoarm structural bearings in general are used if the span of the beam does not exceed 20 m, if rotations are not extreme, if displacements are small and horizontal thrusts are limited. Nevertheless, they are sometimes made in large dimensions. By vulcanizing a wedge-shaped steel plate to the upper surface of the rubber, it is possible to install this type of bearing under beams of considerable slope. Notes: Even if elastomeric bearings are designed to consider shear movements, they should not be used to oppose permanent resistance against an external shear force applied on a constant basis. These are structural bearings consisting of an elastomeric core in which one or more steel laminates are inserted, hot vulcanized to the rubber. The presence of the laminates determines a vertical (axial) stiffening effect and the simultaneous reduction in the rubber swelling. Curing has two purposes: one is to convey the rubber tangential actions to the laminate and the other is to ensure the protection of steel against corrosion. Vasoflon® are confined elastomeric disc structural bearings. Rotations around any horizontal axis are ensured by the deformability of a non-reinforced rubber disc, or bearing, confined within a steel monolithic base (pot). The elastomer acts as a fluid which, subject to a triaxial pressure, opposes weak resistance to deformations and simultaneous strong vertical stiffness. In addition to vertical compressive loads, Vasoflon® bearings are capable of transferring forces and/or permit sliding in one or more directions of the horizontal plane depending on the different bearing types. In movable bearing types, the mutual sliding of two plane surfaces, one of stainless steel and the other of PTFE, ensures the bearing's translation.
