Knight Optical can offer UV Fused Silica Lenses for Flame Detection Applications. UV Fused Silica can be used in Flame Detection Applications, due to its high transmission into the NIR range (approximately <92% avg 400-2000nm) meaning that a clear distinction can be made between different wavelengths of light. UV FS also has a very low coefficient of thermal expansion 0.55x10-6K-1 at 300K) compared to N-BK7 (7.1x10-6K-1), meaning that it can still provide optical performance under high temperature. UV FS also has a high melting point compared to N-BK7, providing further protection for your application in high temperature environments. UV FS is comparable to N-BK7 or other similar optical glasses in its performance, having a very similar average transmission over the VIS range up to approximately 2000nm and a slightly lower refractive index. Knight Optical provide a wide range of optical components present in a spectrometers, specifically mirrors and prisms with a UV Aluminium coating to enable the detection of UV wavelengths from 180nm. UV wavelengths can be hard to detect without the use of this coating and can make results inaccurate. Knight Optical UV Aluminium coating allows wavelengths between 180-650nm to reflection at an average of of 85% which is not achieved with Enhanced Aluminium which cuts on at 400nm and primarily for the visible region and above. The coating can be applied to Prisms and Mirrors, either from stock or custom. The UVpad is the world‘s thinnest spectral measuring and autonomous UV radiometer. It combines scientific measurement technology with a compact and user-friendly instrument. With its innovative measuring principle, it doesn't use optical filters. UV light is spectrally detected and analyzed in the UVpad. Thus, measurements are traceable to national standards. Since it works without a filter, it is particularly suitable for the measurement and comparison of different lamps. All measurement data are displayed on the device immediately; 50 measurements are stored in the UVpad and can be read via USB. The supplied PC software evaluates the irradiance intensity profiles measured separately for UVA, UVB, UVC, and VIS. Spectrum and measurement data can be exported and saved. Optionally, UV systems can be optimized due to saved operating functions such as, for example, the absorption spectra of photo initiators. Thus, the operation costs can be reduced and the product quality can be ensured.
