Colorimeters measure colour in a substance, for example in water. It defines the measurement of the colour to enable its identification, using the lightwave spectrum. Colorimeters are a form of a spectrophotometer. The use of mirrors in the system, redirect the light beam from the light source to the sample and back to the sensor to enable a reading. Hydrophobic means to repel water. Applying a hydrophobic coating to a surface can help the surface repel dirt and residue for easier cleaning. These types of coatings also have an oleophobic property, meaning that oil and grease is also repelled. Knight Optical provide Hydrophobic Coatings to wide range of protective windows made from materials such as BK7 or equivalent, UV Fused Silica or Borosilicate. Spraytec forms a seemless, highly elastic waterproof coating. It is best suited for application onto large surface areas, where it can be applied rapidly. Made from bitumen emulsion it is water based, rapid curing and can be applied on uneven surfaces with minimal surface preparation. Spraytec is UV and puncture resistant, self-healing and environmentally friendly. It is suitable for application onto roofs, walls, floors and in underground construction.

Our range, based on high performance melt processable fluoropolymers such as ECTFE coating, PFA coating and ETFE coating has been formulated to provide enhanced toughness and chemical protection. F-LON® High Build surface coatings have been specifically developed to satisfy the most demanding requirements of the processing industries including organic and inorganic chemical manufacture and the food processing and pharmaceutical industries. Our internal reinforcement technology also enables application thicknesses in excess of 1.0mm (depending on the component) further enhancing liquid and vapour resistance. Desired thicknesses are attained by the application of multiple spray coats with high-temperature oven-fusion cycles between each coat. Rotation of parts during coating minimises the effects of thermoplastic melt flow.
