Robotic Welding Alpha Manufacturing's installation of a robotic welding has increased our capacity to offer high accuracy weld detail in volume as well as 100% product repeatability. Robotic Welding is the perfect solution for customers who require high volume, highly accurate, repeatable products. Alpha's robot welder boasts high-end features such as Cold Metal Transfer technology to eradicate spatter and reduce burn-through and distortion. The Robot also comes equipped with Seam Finding technology to ensure the robot always welds true to joining parts.

As the sole UK Agent for Marcegaglia's Automotive Division, our customers have exclusive access to one of the UK's most comprehensive ranges of stainless steel automotive tube. We supply a wide range of welded exhaust tube in standard lengths of up to 6 metres, with option for custom lengths available. Grades 304 (1.4301) and 409 (1.4512) are the most standard grades, however other grades such as 439 (1.4510) and 441 (1.4509) are also available upon request. Products are generally kept in the As Welded condition however we also hold a complete range of polished material. For more difficult tube manipulations, a range of fully annealed material is also available from stock.

Alloy 17-4 PH is a chromium-copper precipitation hardening martensitic stainless steel with Cu and Nb/Cb additions. 17-4PH Stainless Steel combines high strength, hardness (up to 572°F / 300°C), and moderate corrosion resistance. Alloy 17-4 PH withstands corrosive attacks better than any of the standard hardenable stainless steels and is comparable to Alloy 304 in most media. The alloy is subject to crevice or pitting attack if exposed to stagnant seawater for any length of time, although it is corrosion resistant in some chemical, petroleum, paper, dairy and food processing industries(equivalent to 304L grade). Mechanical properties can be improved (high strength and superior corrosion resistance) when precipitation hardened from Condition A to one of the Condition H tempers. We supply 17-4 PH in the H1150D condition. This is double aged at a temperature between 1140° F and 1160° F for 3.75 hours to 4.
