These are customisable to size and coating depending on what you are trying to achieve. All individually QA checked and metrology tested for quality to ensure parts meet customer specification. Supplied in a range of sizes and shapes with custom coatings tailored to meet your individual applications. The mirrors help produce high quality signals and can be coated with a variety of coatings to ensure that the perfect quality image in the wavelength you require is achieved: Plane mirrors are used to transmit the signal from the light source to the receiver in the spectrometer, the higher the specifications of the mirror the better the signal for it to produce a better transmission or reflection curve that it relatively to the sample. Mirrors are made from low expansion glass for optimum stability to maintain the lambda/10 flatness. The mirrors help produce high quality signals and can be coated with a variety of coatings to ensure that the perfect quality image in the wavelength you require is achieved: •Enhanced aluminium 94%R for visible applications. •99.9% dielectric for laser use in visible applications. •UV aluminium for UV applications down to 180nm. •98.5% dielectric for laser use in the NIR applications. •Ion plated silver for NIR-2000nm applications. •Protected gold for 750nm to far infra-red applications Lambda/10 mirrors are used to produce a better quality signal from the mirror, resulting in a higher quality result for transmission. Knight Optical provide a wide range of optical components present in a spectrometers, specifically mirrors and prisms with a UV Aluminium coating to enable the detection of UV wavelengths from 180nm. UV wavelengths can be hard to detect without the use of this coating and can make results inaccurate. Knight Optical UV Aluminium coating allows wavelengths between 180-650nm to reflection at an average of of 85% which is not achieved with Enhanced Aluminium which cuts on at 400nm and primarily for the visible region and above. The coating can be applied to Prisms and Mirrors, either from stock or custom. It is also worth noting that the coating has a protective layer which improves resistance to scratching and improves durability making it easier to clean. Read PDF for more details

Need to measure the fluorescent properties of a component with your Spectrometer but you feel like something’s missing? Maybe it’s Knight Optical range of Stock Dichroic Filters, ideal for use within Fluorescence Microscopy and Spectroscopy. For Fluorescence Microscopy and Spectroscopy, dichroic filters are used as beam splitters within the microscope system. They are used as an edge filter at a tilted angle of incidence (typically 45°) to direct the illumination of an excitation frequency towards the sample of interest, and then at an analyser to reject the same excitation frequency but passes a particular emission frequency. Dichroic filters offer superior contrast between transmitted and reflected wavelengths; having negligible absorption. Having a dielectric coating they are perfect for high power applications and they do not show the strong fluorescence of certain glass filters. For more information read the PDF
