Knight Optical can offer you Stock and Custom Fresnel Lenses, for concentrated photovoltaic applications in a range of materials such as PMMA Acrylic and Borosilicate. CPV is an application which generates electricity from sunlight. The key difference between this technology and conventional photovoltaics (solar panels) is the inclusion of optical components. Utilising optical components which focuses the sunlight onto solar cells increases the efficiency of the electricity generation. Knight Optical provides fresnel lenses which consist of a flat surface with interspace concentric steps whereby each step corresponds to the surface of a conventional lenses. PMMA Acrylic is a preferred material for CPV systems as it is very lightweight when used in a large size. Specialist grades of PMMA are also utilised which absorb the UV light and thus reduces the effects of solarisation i.e. the yellowing of the optical material due to exposure to UV. Our expert, in-house, CNC capabilities allow us to produce Perforated Plywood Panels to virtually any design you can imagine. Clean, precision cut perforations are made by selecting the correct tooling and use of the best quality Plywood. Each of these steps keeps splintering, often associated with CNC routing Plywood to an absolute minimum. We have perforated Plywood for a number of projects including firelighter presses, breathable mattress support panels, for use over wooden and metal slatted beds, and decorative screens.

Our range of wood effect boards now includes a Cherry Melamine Board cut to size. As with each of our wood effect melamine sheets it is suitbale for a wide range of uses including, but not limited to the following… Commercial desk tops. Home office desks. Shelves. Table top extensions. Wardrobe carcass panels. Wardrobe doors. Our in house capabilities also allows us to provide Cherry Melamine Board Cut to Size & Edged. Our standard edging solution is to use a matching 2mm ABS bonded to the board with an EVA adhesive. Alternatively we can offer 1mm colour matched edging or a contrasting edging in either 1 or 2mm. Another option we can offer is the use of PUR adhesive to bond the edging to the board. PUR adhesive is far stronger that EVA adhesive and also provides resistance against heat and moisture. Using the PUR option is essential when using edged melamine faced boards in kitchen, and especially bathroom, environments.

Our Bullnosed wall panel dado rail has been created specifically to fit our T&G & Bead & Butt panelling however, it looks also looks great with our MDF Shaker Style Wall Panelling. The Dado is available with, or without, a pre grooved (rebated) on the rear so that it will sit on top of 6mm, 9mm or 12mm MDF Wall panelling kits and our low cost, DIY wall panelling packs. If you are looking for a Tongue and Groove MDF wall panelling dado rail, or a dado rail to fit our Tongue and Groove Cladding, then please select either the 6mm or 9mm rebated version to suit your choice of panel thickness. Unlike our other dado rail options, our Bullnosed nosed dado profile can also be used on wider strips of MDF to create a shelving for wall panelling projects such as finishing boxed in plumbing for bathrooms and feature shelves above panelling in bedrooms etc.

Our moisture resistant Tongue & Groove and moisture resistant, pre primed, “Bead and Butt” effect MDF wall panels are perfect for decorative bathroom wall panelling. These panels are not suitable for shower enclosures however, if painted in a suitable paint (not emulsion) they are perfect for use in bathrooms, kitchens, utilities and other rooms around the home.
