Heskins anti-slip fire exit markers have been developed and produced to offer a faster, more efficient way of creating a clear zone and prominent signage for your fire exits. Compared to stencilling, masking and painting, with waits in between for drying times, Heskins alter¬native, fire exit floor markings,¬ is a one-piece, adhesive appli¬cation, that takes literally minutes to apply, and can be used immediately, complete with an industry-standard anti-slip surface.

H6902 printed ESD (electrostatic discharge) floor marking material using the qualities of PermaRoute to make a high definition, industry-specific, printed floor marking material. Utilising the construction of PermaRoute means this material will hold fast, whilst displaying an important message for the area it is intended for.

Printed Anti Slip Warning Tape is something that we receive many requests for. Many customers commonly want to make a hazardous area not only safe for foot traffic but also prominently highlighted as a risk area; most customers prefer to do this by warning text. As a bespoke print onto safety-grip requires certain minimum order quantities, we decided that the best way to stop disappointing clients would be to create a standard print that would cover most of the requests which we receive; we now have two standard prints on rolls and two on cut pieces.

Durbar plate, chequer plate, diamond tread are all commonly used, you can see them almost everywhere for fire exits, walkways, access platforms etc. It is a common misconception that the pattern provides a safe surface to walk on, unfortunately, this is not correct. Durbar plate is an extremely slippy surface, metal does not easily provide a non-slip floor (its hard surface does not attract grip) and the pattern often creates more problems than it solves (the rises result in less surface area for footwear). Many government safety websites warn of the risk of using durbar type plate in critical areas. Conformable Safety-Grip tape is the answer to the problems that irregular metal plates create. Durbar plate was previously impossible to coat with a non slip surface, a conventional non slip tape would rise up when stretched into the valleys.

Commonly found chemicals such as water, soap solutions or many others do not pose any harm, even occasional exposure to certain petrochemicals or harsher cleaning does not affect the material. In certain, and very rare, situations the anti-slip tape could be completely submerged under a liquid that is extremely aggressive. Some of our customers use problematic solutions; these could include high concentration MEK, toluene, acids, alkalis etc. For almost all applications our conventional Safety-Grip range performs brilliantly. In a small number of applications one of two situations can cause problems; 1. Chemical retention In this situation mild chemicals such as basic cleaning agents mixed with water and are trapped on the surface on the anti-slip tape with no way of escaping, the fluids form a reservoir and with no form of dissipation, over time, they can damage the resins that hold the minerals onto the plastic film.

Mild abrasive Safety-Grip tape features the mildest anti-slip coating we have ever manufactured. While still having 100% coverage, the granules applied to the surface are far smaller than others in our range. This results in low peak to valley measurement, which is beneficial and more desirable in some applications.

Our current crop of anti-slip materials are strong enough to withstand industrial use and more, but for a long time, we have had various customers asking us to produce very thick anti-slip materials for their application requirements, but achieving this has always created many production obstacles. In early 2015, we made the decision to produce very thick anti-slip tape measuring 2mm in depth! This has involved us modifying the necessary production machinery to be able to handle the additional thickness this material has, investing in a new range of crush cut blade holders to ensure we can create our thick Safety-Grip products to the same level of consistent quality as with our current range of anti-slip tapes.

H3460 marine anti slip tape is one of Heskins first marine specific products, tailor-made to be used on the open seas, on anything from pleasure crafts, to competitive boats and commercial vessels. Marine anti slip tape is the first product to be 100% guaranteed salt resistant. We felt it necessary to have this feature due to the long amounts of time this will be applied on a vessel out in the open sea, as while we and others have previously used Safety-Grip™ and our non-abrasives, with the exception of our chemical resistant Safety-Grip™, we could not guarantee full salt resistance. With a salt-resistant marine anti slip tape, we can safely guarantee that, subject to correct application on to a clean, dry surface, the service life will be exceptional. For additional guarantees, our ancillaries will only help prolong the life span of the material.

Adding a thicker backing liner to our anti-slip tape reduces the chance of creases and air pockets during large sheet application, resulting in a more hassle-free application and a better finish.

H3402NUC X-Coarse uses a rare and very big type of aluminium oxide granule. The grit is so heavy that it requires a special plastic film to be able to carry it without splitting. The plastic film is coated with a high tack adhesive (HG), the adhesive is designed to adhere to often difficult substrates such as low energy powder coat that are notoriously problematic for normal adhesives.

The grit is still the same substance, aluminium oxide; but the difference is the grit granules are larger with deeper valleys and higher peaks. A deep anti-slip coating helps to prevent clogging with dirt, dust, ice etc. A deeper grit provides great durability.

H3401 standard anti slip tape is made from a fine grade aluminium oxide, which makes it suitable for use in a wide range of appli­cations. The grit is a medium anti-slip abrasive coating.­ Our standard Safety-Grip is great for general anti-slip requirements possessing excellent levels of grip (measured as Coefficient of Friction). Safety-Grip is water resistant (if applied onto a non-porous surface, we do also offer a complete range of ancillaries) and has exceptional durability in external or internal areas.

Not only does this shelter combine utility, but it reflects design too. It is made up with steel powder coated square posts. Today, we’re trusted by many blue chip companies in the oil, gas and shipping industries to supply them with high quality electrical safety matting. Over the years we’ve successfully exported electrical rubber switchboard matting to over 20 countries worldwide. All of our rubber insulating mats are then rigorously independently tested to comply with all the following specifications: European IEC61111, BS921, VDEO303 & American ASTM D178. As there is no time definition as to when the electrical safety matting should be replaced unless an electrical shock has occurred then it should be replaced immediately. The flutes are also a useful indicator of when the rubber matting should be replaced – just keep an eye out for any signs of wear over time. We also supply electrical safety matting with a smooth finish. Again, once this starts showing signs of wear just give us a call to arrange a replacement.
