Ball Lenses are widely used for focusing & coupling light into & out of fibres. With the high refractive index of Sapphire (Al2O3) material, it yields a low spherical aberration that can be used in the range of UV from 200nm up to 5µm, and with it being one of the hardest materials they are resistant to damage. The key feature of ball lenses is their short back focal length allowing for precision coupling where size or space is a limiting factor in the system. Typically used in pairs, where one lens acts as collimator for the second to focus the light back into the coupled fibre. Ball Lenses are manufactured from a single substrate of glad and therefore, depending on the geometry of the input source, can focus or collimate light. Half Ball Lenses can also be used as an interchange with a full ball lens for more compact designs. Read the PDF for more information...

Knight Optical offer a range of Stock Sapphire Windows, and custom for use within Airborne LiDAR Systems. These are systems used in surveying for topographical measurements. The data accumulated can be used to generate a Digital Terrain Model or a Digital Elevation Model which are 3D representations of terrain. Sapphire (Al2O3) is one of the hardest minerals and optical materials available for use in the range from UV up to 5µm. Making it ideal as a protective window for airborne systems which may be utilised in harsh environment or against birds! Sapphire is grown by various methods from seed samples. Sapphire can be polished to a high standard, but as it is the second hardest mineral on Earth it must be subject to high forces to polish. Therefore, windows made from Sapphire must have a thickness to diameter ratio of at least 10:1, that is, greater For more information read PDF….

The Conformable TactArray is a ~1mm thick flexible sensor constructed from soft, conductive cloth and captures pressure distribution between two objects in direct physical contact. The Conformable TactArray can accommodate varying degrees of curvature and can output accurate, repeatable data even while wrapped around irregular shapes. Key Features and Benefits: Maintain high-resolution and capture quality data even around complex shapes High resolution, sensitivity, and repeatability allow for consistent capture of accurate data The sensors can capture a minimum sensing pressure of 10 Pascal Save time and improve results through repeatable accuracy and less recalibration time needed Available in a wide range of size configurations, pressure ranges, and resolutions Comes standard with the powerful Chameleon Visualization Software

The CTA TactileHead is a width adjustable pressure measurement and mapping system for quantifying pressures exerted by headphones, earmuffs, headbands, and more on various head sizes. A high-resolution Conformable TactArray sensor is molded onto the curved area around the ear of the mannequin head, while another high-resolution TactArray sensor is mounted to a flat plate on the other side of the head to provide a controlled comparison. Chameleon, our real-time visualization and acquisition software, is then used to display pressures from both sensors simultaneously and to perform real-time analysis for evaluating comfort and fit.

Shaw Moisture Meters supply sample systems to assist with sampling direct from process lines, protecting your hygrometer from high pressures and contaminants particularly in hydrocarbon applications. These engineered solutions extract and analyse a representative sample of the air or gas, which is then either vented off to atmosphere or returned to the process. The SHAW range of sample systems has been developed throughout 60 years of experience in industrial moisture analysis and process applications. Built using the highest quality components to provide long term performance and reliability even in the toughest applications. Choose from an add on sample system suitable for your portable hygrometer, dewpoint meter, online analyser or contact us regarding a complete all-in-one system designed for your specific requirements.

If you need to measure parts and components quickly and in large numbers – regardless of their shape – you need a TVM20 or TVM35 digital measuring microscope. All the operator has to do is place the subject on the stage for rapid measurements. TVM is ideal for taking 2D measurements of multiple subjects, when fast throughput and ease of use are essential requirements, and a great choice for a shop floor non-contact measurement system. Large field of view for fast throughput Thanks to TVM’s large 35mm field of view you can measure a wider range of samples in an instant. What’s more, a large depth of field means focus is maintained. You don’t have to waste time with fussy positioning or fixing: just place it, measure it, and move on to the next subject. Sharp, flat image for improved edge detection TVM video measuring systems use flat field telecentric optics and illumination to create a sharp image of the component on their HD monitor.
