Gidrolast specialises in the design and manufacture of both Single Acting and Double Acting Telescopic Hydraulic Cylinders. We build both standard catalogue telescopic designs as well as custom application engineered telescopic cylinders. Often a hydraulic cylinder is required to fit into a very tight space and yet provide a stroke that is actually longer than its fully retracted length. A standard rod cylinder cannot do this. A telescopic cylinder, however, can achieve a very long stroke from a compact retracted length. Telescopic cylinders use a series of nested tubular segments sliding within one another (see diagram below). This enables them to provide a very long output stroke from a very short retracted length in one combined actuator. These cylinders are available in 2, 3, 4, 5, or even 6 stages. Most telescoping cylinders are single acting. That means that they extend using hydraulic pressure but then retract using gravity and the mass of the load.

The Advance Solar EnergyManager is a tried and tested thermal store design with an internal heat exchanger and shunt pump arrangement resulting in delivery of hot water equivalent to the volume of the tank at 43ºC. The solar version has a dedicated solar coil which reduces energy bills and reliance on fossil fuel. The solar thermal panels will contribute to heating and hot water during periods of solar gain. The shunt pump is pre fitted and wired to activate when taps or showers are turned on. The EnergyManager comes as shown above with wiring centre for installers to complete the wiring for the rest of the system. Full instructions for wiring the total system are included. At 65ºC operation the EnergyManager is perfect for underfloor or low temperature radiator circuits and offers efficiencies due to the temperature being lower than most thermal stores. The HETAS listed SFUTS pre plumbed pre wired Universal Thermal Store has been designed to link a number of heat sources including gas or oil boilers, wood burners, and solar thermal or PV as well as electric and other inputs. Hot water is safely delivered at mains pressure through a large integral coil for fast bath filling and power showering without a pump. In summer the solar coil, if utilised, will provide most of your hot water needs. In the winter the wood burner, when lit, will handle most of the heating and hot water duties. Central heating is taken from the store which acts as a buffer for fast radiator or under floor heat up. The store is kept hot by the energy inputs controlled by thermostats. Because the unit is a sealed system it is fine for under floor systems. The primaries are 28mm and can be teed off for two separate circuits if required.
