BVM’s broad experience in producing customised Embedded PC Systems has been transferred to producing a new & diverse range of “Build to Order” Mini-ITX system PC’s. Solutions are available with a wide variety of options for required i/o and processors. High or low processing demands to suit power usage, data and graphics manipulation. Suitable storage & memory types – along with a wide range of capacities are also available to suit your application.

As a systems integrator, BVM’s custom designs frequently require means of a visual output when customers use our build to order services. BVM can engineer the right visual solution befitting the application and the environment it’s to be deployed within. Unlike other integrators, BVM are agnostic where specific display manufacturers are concerned – making use of direct and indirect relationships with an established supply chain built up over our 30 years + of existence that serves every need of our display design in processes. Without bias, we only select and use TFT’s & peripherals befitting to the application – which means we can meet the demands of the most challenging of applications where the deployment of displays & associated technologies is concerned.

If your embedded system requires a custom enclosure, you may anticipate having to approach an industrial design house and commission the enclosure design as a separate project. This adds cost and can increase the risks as you may face communication difficulties and hold-ups between suppliers. With Blue Chip Technology’s in-house mechanical design engineering capabilities, you have the option of keeping all aspects of your project with just the one partner. With over 30 years of mechanical design experience and the advantage of being co-located with the electronics design and manufacturing teams, our mechanical design engineers are best suited to take care of your enclosure design. We use the Creo Parametric 3D CAD system (formerly Pro Engineer) which can seamlessly integrate with CAD models authored in other systems, so if you already have an existing design or concept we can build a solution from that.

At BVM we have been designing PCBs for many years and have experienced the changes in technology. From 16-bit CPU modules, disc and network interfaces to the latest high speed PCIe devices, custom power supplies and carrier boards, BVM have built up a library of standard building blocks and, combined with our engineering design experience, we consequently ensure your project and design is a successful one. For PCB layout we use Altium PCB designer which includes an ‘auto-router’ to the provides the means of an assisted layout tool which in turn means we maintain control and ensure an efficient design (and product) is produced – especially where repeatability of manufacture is concerned.

Not everything ‘off the shelf’ will be a fit for your specific application. Like most things in life, one size doesn’t fit all and BVM take the same approach when looking at an overall system design – particularly where the enclosure is concerned. BVM’s design team utilise the very latest in 3D modelling CAD software so we can design suitable housings to provide the exact fit, feel and practicalities needed to house & accommodate the central intelligence and interactivity behind your product – inclusive of motherboards, TFT displays with integrated touch, required cabling – and any other peripheral devices needed to aid your application.

Whether a new printed circuit assembly or an embedded system, prototypes can be produced for design verification and functional testing with your application software. Environmental & extended temperature testing, EMC testing and general cosmetic and functional tests are all part of the services we provide around product design so discrepancies can be identified & rectified before your product is released for manufacture & marketing.
