Similar in general operation to the rotary drum vacuum filter, the rotary table vacuum filter (RTVF) is particularly suited to rapid-settling, fast-filtering crystalline suspensions. RTVFs are continuous filtration units and able to handle large flow rates. The orientation of the rotary table enables a thick filter cake to form on the surface. As the table rotates, the filter cake is cut from the table surface using a specially designed auger. A small, residual heel of solids is retained on the filter which helps to protect the filter medium.

Possibly one of the simplest filtration units used in industry today, the tipping pan filter is ideal for batch processing rapid-settling, fast-filtering crystalline suspensions. The filter is an open-topped vessel which is fitted with a false base, drainage grids and filter medium. The solid/liquid suspension is fed onto the surface of the pan and, at the same time, vacuum is applied to the base of the pan. The vacuum assists in dewatering the suspension thereby producing a filter cake on the filter medium. The filtered liquid (filtrate) is collected from the base of the pan through a special valve assembly. The filter cake can be washed in the pan as many times as is required by the process to achieve the desired product purity. Once the washing stage has completed, the pan is inverted and the filter cake is discharged.

The Rotavac One is our complete compact pilot filter station. Easy to install and operate it is ideal for small volume applications, process validation and pilot-scale trials. The unit has a small 2m x 1m footprint, comprising of 1.3m² skid mounted rotary vacuum drum filter (RDVF), filtrate receiver, filtrate pump, vacuum pump, blower (scraper discharge version only), local control panel. Two versions are available: Rotavac One S, scraper discharge and Rotavac One P, precoat discharge. These filters are ideal for larger test programmes under actual manufacturing conditions. When airborne pollutants enter the duct they pass through the the filter which allows for the air to continue to pass through but traps the microscopic particles and does not allow them to pass back into the the building when the air is recycled.

Membrane cartridge filters ensure the complete removal of microorganisms in sterile liquid applications, or spoilage organism removal to ensure shelf life in food & beverage applications. Known as final, sterile or POU filters, membranes are usually the last filter used in a manufacturing process prior to packaging. Sidestream filters remove sediment, biological growth, rust and corrosion products from recirculating closed loop CHW, LTHW and MTHW water circuits in the HVAC industry. These filters protect pipework, valves, pumps and components by removing suspended impurities and complement water treatment program. BSRIA Publication BG29/2021 recommends that a sidestream filter is installed “to protect and prolong system life expectancy.” Sidestream filters provide an economical solution for filtration in the recirculating water systems by filtering the complete system volume once or twice in 24 hours. Sidestream filters can be supplied fully assembled with pumps on a skid, ready for filtration. Widely used and favoured for drinking water treatment and beverage production where chloramines are not present; the SCB is formulated from low ash content, microporous coconut carbon that targets VOCs and THMs. Acid wash during the production process and low fine content give excellent rinse-up times as well as regulating pH and taste.
