It is equipped with an impact (hammer) type sensor with 45 mm long insulated needles (length of the penetrating part: 30 mm, diameter of the penetrating part: 3.5 mm). Model 140W differs from the similar model M141W in the lack of an infrared pyrometric sensor, which is used for non-contact measurement of wood temperature and allows for automatic temperature compensation during measurement. Instead, the M140W model requires manual adjustment of the wood temperature.
