Turkey exports almost % 40 of quince production to 45 countries. Russia and Germany are the first two countries in the export market of Turkey. It is one of the most favorite winter fruits. Our city Denizli is one of the main production areas about the production of Turkish quince. Quince grows in large areas and due to the climate, it has good production efficiency in Denizli. Many fruits exporters and brokers make huge amounts of sales. We also export Turkish quince in big quantities. Total production in the world is around 600 K tons. Turkey and after China, Uzbekistan produces 150 K tons. After these countries, Morocco and Iran come as the big producers. Some of the most popular categories are quince-lemon, Eşme, Golden.

Turkey is one of the motherlands of pomegranate. So, it spreads and grows in many areas, both in the mountainous and coastal areas. Because of this pomegranate mainly grows in the Aegean and Mediterranean regions. Total pomegranate production in Turkey is approximately 100K tons. So Turkey is one of the world’s important pomegranate exporter countries. Turkish fruits brokers also fruits and vegetable exporters work a lot on this pomegranate. There are different categories because pomegranate cultivates in large areas. We know that there are many selections. We observe that there are a lot of pomegranate varieties in Turkey. Among these varieties, about fruit taste, their names are sour, sour-sweet and sweet varieties. Also, in terms of seed, there are different types, such as soft-seed, intermediate and hard-seed.

Mayer Lemon The fruit color is dark yellow, the rind is soft and thin and the shape is round and small. It is the most water containing lemon. Enterdonato Lemon This variety produces mostly in Turkey and especially in the Eastern Mediterranean region. This lemon starts early growing. And it has the largest share in the lemon export of Turkey. Its fruit is big and the shape is long and cylindrical. The most prominent feature is the side-tilted nipple. The rind is thin, smooth, light green and shiny. Lamas Lemon This variety grows in a specific region at the west of Mersin (Erdemli, Silifke) in the Mediterranean region because it is ecology selective. Lamas is the first growing lemon after Enterdonato in Turkey, is a high-quality lemon variety. It is very convenient to store and transport.

Turkey’s kiwi export was 4,783 tons in 2020. In 2021, Turkey’s kiwi export for the first 4 months is 5.185 tons. Turkey exports kiwi fruit, the most to Spain with 22.3% of approximately 1,155 tons, 18.1% is made to Russia with approximately 935 thousand kg. Kiwi production in Turkey in 2020 is approximately 74 thousand tons. In the last five years in Turkey kiwi production, an increase of 67.8% was observed. 73,745 tons of kiwi production in 2020 is estimated that it will be 79 thousand tons in 2021 with an increase of 7%. Turkish Kiwi Packaging Packaging of kiwi is done in plastic boxes of 10 kg mostly in bulk. Kiwi is also packaged in carton or plastic boxes of 3-5 kg in trays. Sizes are calibrated as 18-20-23-25-27-30-33-36-39-42 between 60 – 120 grs.
