Different technologies and materials are used, depending on the requested process and process media. Pilotclave pressure reactors range from 50 - 500 liter and are all customized. To quote such systems we require detailed specifications. Safety is important with such larger scale systems, especially when doing hydrogenations and other reactions under higher pressure. The degree of automation and process control vary from simple data collection to complete automation of the system. In most cases, the reaction vessels are jacketed steel or Hastelloy® reactors.

For dependable and reproducible hydrogenations Buchi gas dosing system bpc 2 in combination with Buchi pressure reactors creates an optimal solution for safe, accurate and reproducible hydrogenations. The Buchi hydrogenator is a turnkey hydrogenation solution, consisting of: bpc 2 (Buchi pressflow controller) for hydrogen dosing, control of reaction pressure and continuous measuring of the Hydrogen uptake until saturation Buchi pressure reactors, offered in different materials and volumes for high to low pressure applications The unique volumetric hydrogen gas dosing records the parameters pressure, momentary consumption and overall consumption. The optional bls3 allows Operation of the apparatus via PC and storing or recorded data for further analyses.

Performance and reliability are key issues in the explosion proof design of Buchi glass reaction systems. The inert materials allow safe processing in an inert atmosphere of a wide range of solvents and acids in a completely sealed glass reaction system under full vacuum. Multiple chemical reaction steps are performed safely in the same setup. Heat exchangers are mainly used in vacuum distillation systems for cooling and condensation in the absorption and rectification processes in chemical plants. Glass heat exchangers enable visual process control during scale-up and production and processing of multiple (acidic) chemical substances. We offer glass spiral type and shell & tube type heat exchangers. These are often operated in combination with a secondary condenser for additional vapor condensation. The glass spiral heat exchangers can be operated in parallel to form large heat exchange areas for higher condensation performances and larger reactors systems in pilot plants. They feature easy cleaning and operation of cooling media at up to 3 bar pressure.
