Universal use for a wide range of applications Ice stores are used in more and more areas of technology. In addition to the classic areas of application in refrigeration, air conditioning and commercial kitchen technology, ice storage systems and cold water systems are increasingly being used in process engineering systems. Cold water for subsequent production processes is generated with ice storage tanks. Ice storage systems thus provide stored cold. Use of cheap night electricity tariffs With the help of ice storage technology, cheap nighttime electricity tariffs can be used. During the night, ice is continuously built up on the plates or on the pipe coils. This ice is then available during the day as stored cooling capacity. This can significantly reduce energy costs. The cooling units can also be made smaller when using ice storage systems.

Liquid chillers for low temperatures, also in outdoor environments The RW CW series of process fluid coolers (water, water/antifreeze) are water-cooled and operate with environmentally friendly gas compression. They allow cooled liquid temperatures between -8°C and +20°C. In standard design, ambient temperatures of up to +40°C are permissible, but in the “RW ax/HTA” version even higher ambient temperatures can be achieved. IP54 degree of protection as standard, allowing outdoor installation without a protective roof.

ERW ax systems for industrial refrigeration of process fluids (water, water and glycol) are air-cooled units, using EC (Electronic Control) axial fans. This range includes a series of models with cooling capacities from 2.1 kWf up to 595 kWf. Three different versions are provided for different outlet fluid temperature ranges, agreed with the customer during the design phase. The entire range uses refrigerant with GWP 631.

RW ax systems for industrial refrigeration of process fluids (water, water and glycol) are air-cooled: the only resource used is therefore electrical energy, a decisive advantage in contexts where it is advisable to save water (because of its cost or scarcity). The IP54-grade machine protection (against dust and other agents) facilitates their installation in outdoor environments, which is also possible at temperatures up to +40°C and above, at the customer’s request. RW ax liquid chillers from Frigofluid are suitable for achieving average fluid outlet temperatures (between +1°C and 20°C), with excellent control of the resources used for their operation.

Most industrial process temperature control units work through the pressure exerted on the water of the process utilities: this is convenient in most “standard” cases, given the higher efficiency developed by the system. However, some critical process issues can make this type of operation difficult: this is the case of machines that leak fluids, or with leakage, and that it is not convenient to maintain on the spot. In such cases, it is therefore useful to work with a vacuum temperature control unit, which sucks in utility water. FTT PD water thermoregulators are flexible and effective systems, which can work under either pressure or vacuum depending on the peculiarities of the system. Any fluid losses are therefore minimized during operations. A simplicity of operation is also ensured by the touch-screen panel, also found on other Frigofluid temperature controllers. Models with an increased pump are also available for users characterized by high pressure drops.

Complete deionisation with electro deionisation With electro deionisation, permeate of reverse osmosis or other process waters can be completely demineralised. According to the VGB recommendations, a max. conductivity of 0,08 µS/cm is allowed for fully demineralised water.

Landfill leachate treatment Landfill leachate must not be leaded to the canalization or the recipient untreated. According to the guidelines of environmental protection, waste water hast to fulfill limit values of introduction and reusable water has to be cleaned and separated to be used as process water or maybe as drinking water. So, also landfill leachate – as many other industrial waste waters, too – has to be treated in a way, that introduction into a downstream sewage plant or recipient is according to the law. The multitude of ingredients of the landfill leachate has to be concentrated as much as possible, so that they can be bailed compact and without negative results for the environment. For the treatment of landfill leachate we offer the following processes of conditioning: Treatment of the leachate to reach recipient quality and concentration of the remaining ingredients in a way, that they can be leaded back to the landfill considering the water balance. Boiler feed water The so called „Boiler feed water“ is stored in a feed water tank and continuously feeded to the boiler of a steam generator. A big quantity of feed water is needed for example in steam power plants. The boiler generates steam, which is used for heating, for chemical processes or for driving a steam turbine respectively a steam engine. The feed water is purified in a way, that all harmfull components for the boiler are removed or neutralized. Leakages and evaporation loss are compensated by additional water which is purified in the same way than boiler feed water. Very often, valuable well and potable water resources are used for the generation of process water. Environmental regulations restrict this usage of well and potable water continuously and increase the costs for this resources steadily.
