We offer you standardised complete systems for the measurement of volume & mass flows. The EP LMF®-LaminarMasterFlow® is a complete system for high-precision flow measurement of gases and air. The LMF® system consists of a flow processor, a Laminar Flow Element (LFE) as measuring section, a cable set and a sensor package. The flow measurement is performed by means of Laminar Flow Elements (LFE), which are available in different sizes and cover a measuring range from 0.01 to 700 m³/h. (optionally up to 4000 m³/h).

EP Ehrler Prüftechnik manufactures LFEs in the flow rate range from 0.012 to 4000 m³/h. In addition to the standard range, EP offers customer-specific LFEs that are perfectly designed for your application. Suitable inlet and outlet sections and the corresponding mounting kits are available for all sizes for installation in customer applications. The achievable measuring accuracy depends largely on the sensor technology used, in particular the differential pressure sensor. When using high-quality sensors, measuring accuracies of up to 0.5 % MW can be achieved with LFEs in the measuring range of 1:10. In order to cover a very wide measuring range without restrictions in measuring accuracy, LFEs with overlapping flow ranges can be combined in one measuring setup. Alternatively, LFEs with correspondingly lower measurement accuracy can also be calibrated for an extended measurement range up to a maximum of 1:100.

with adjustable humidity and temperature to simulate the environmental conditions of a test specimen (e.g. household appliances, heating technology) The basis is a standard or climatic chamber (e.g. test kitchen, environmental simulation) with adjustable air humidity and temperature. On the basis of decades of experience in automotive test engineering, EP-E developed a concept in which the air flows in a circle (loop design). The result is a very excellent homogeneous temperature and humidity distribution. Through precise temperature and humidity control, it is possible to set different combinations of air conditioning and thus precisely adjust the required test conditions. The determination of the air flow (exhaust air volume) is carried out via a measuring section with the use of Laminar Flow Elements (LFEs). In order to determine the volume flow, pressure and temperature sensors are used to determine the air volume flow of the climatic chamber(s).

The GXR Static Mixer (Licensee of Bayer, AG) is used for mixing, dispersing and homogenization of viscous materials. It is a high performance motionless mixer design that creates a very high degree of mixing in a short length. It is capable of mixing materials with very large differences in viscosity and volumetric ratios. It is a cost effective static mixer design with moderate mixing performance capabilities. It is most suitable for use in small diameter turbulent flow and laminar flow applications where the mixing task is simple and where it’s characteristic features of low pressure drop and open geometric structure are best for the specific application. For difficult applications, the high performance GX static mixer is recommended for laminar flow applications. The Helical static mixer is available in metal and plastic construction in a wide variety of configurations and sizes.

History of GX Static Mixing Structure The GX static mixer was invented by Bayer AG of Leverkusen, Germany in the mid 1970’s. Bayer used the GX static mixer extensively in their polymer plants and subsequently licensed the design to Sulzer Chemtech of Winterthur, Switzerland who trademarked the design as the SMX* static mixer. Sulzer did a tremendous amount of fundamental high quality R&D work on the SMX structure and commercialized the SMX static mixer in tens-of-thousands of successful installations. The founders of StaMixCo held key technical and management positions in the Koch Engineering (the later Koch-Glitsch)-Sulzer Chemtech team that commercialized the SMX static mixer. Bayer licensed their 2nd generation of the SMX static mixer to StaMixCo which is branded as the GXR structure with integral support ring around the X-Grid mixing bars as described in a previous section of this web site. * StaMixCo is not a distributor of or affiliated with Sulzer Chemtech.
