Recasting is basically a simpler version of dubbing. It stands for a deeper processing of the sound files (for example, background voices addition) and wider range of voice actors’ volume levels. Besides, original and adapted phrases are accurately matched in length. Recasting is a unique technology that yields proper results at a lower cost and in a shorter time.

Redubbing is a perfect option when production budget is limited. Redubbing is just a little bit different from dubbing the original sound is cut out, and voice actors are playing at full capacity. However, lip synching is not so strict here; only the beginning and ending of each phrase are synched. As for the middle of the phrase, lip movements may not necessarily match the sound (the same is also valid for recording exclamations and interjections).

Dubbing is a multi stage process. First, media content is translated and edited, then it has to be lip synched, matching a speaking person’s lip movements with prerecorded spoken texts.
