The standard Relax RDS mattress, for a matrimonial bed for two people, is made of hardwood, multi-layered beech, which offers flexibility and resistance over time, supporting a weight of over 350 kg. The slats of the bed frame are slightly curved and have a width of 3.8 cm, thickness of 0.8 cm, being fixed in elastic ABS supports, which have the role of absorbing the weight, embedded in the sides of the struts, which have a section of 6 cm x 2.5 cm, eliminating thus the unpleasant squeak. The lumbar area can be stiffened by moving the adjustable sliders closer. The slats are made by industrial processing of the treated beech log. Beech is a hard wood, but by pressing the layers of technical veneer at a high temperature it also becomes elastic. The transverse bar under the slats provides extra safety and prevents the frames from drifting apart over time, successfully coping with long-term use.
