With its rugged housing and a stainless steel sensor element, the transducer is particularly robust and ideally suited to the harshest environments. This also means that the sensor can be installed anywhere with no effect on the measurement signal. The built-in instrumentation amplifier converts the sensor signals into noise-immune voltage signals or current signals that can be transmitted over relatively long distances. For high viscose materials, a front-level membrane M12 x 1 is available, and with this disruptive dead volumes can be expelled. The sensor has a small protected hole on the rear to allow measurement of atmospheric pressure (measurement type relative). For the absolute measurement option, the applied pressure is measured with respect to an enclosed vacuum. As an electrical connection, a DIN 43650A valve connector or an M12 x 1, 4-pin connection is available.

Different types of pressure transmitters exist: differential pressure transmitter for measuring a pressure difference ΔP but also a relative or absolute pressure transmitter. The OPTIBAR PC 5060 is a pressure transmitter for process pressure and hydrostatic level measurement in all kinds of process applications. It is designed for absolute and gauge pressure measurement in open tanks and – as dual version for electronic differential pressure measurement – also in closed vessels. The pressure device features a ceramic capacitive measuring cell that guarantees maximum overload and vacuum resistance for high plant availability. The measuring cell can be built into the process absolutely flush and the radially recessed position of the gasket provides additional protection in abrasive media. It is resistant to sudden temperature shocks and can handle operating temperatures of up to +150°C/ +302°F. The OPTIBAR PC 5060 comes with robust plastic and aluminium housing or hygienic stainless steel versions (incl. ingress protection IP69k). The pressure transmitter comes with various diagnostics and digital communication options.

The differential pressure transmitters of the PRD-33X series are designed for accurate measurements in low pressure ranges with very high overload on both sides. In addition to the differential pressure sensor, which may only be exposed to gases at its rear face, the devices have an additional absolute pressure sensor that measures the line pressure. Both measured values are output via the digital RS485 interface and are the ideal basis for cryogenic tank monitoring.

The differential pressure transmitters of the PD-33X series are suitable for 'wet/wet' applications. They have a single silicon diaphragm in their interior, which is pressurised from both sides and measures the pressure difference directly. This design enables them to measure small pressure differences even at an extremely high line pressure. The transmitters use digital compensation with a mathematical model to achieve exceptional accuracy of 0,05 %FS – in the temperature range from 10 to 40 °C, this value even corresponds to the total error band.

The ultra-fast M8coolHB pressure transmitter can process pressure changes with a bandwidth of 50 kHz. This is achieved by means of the continuous analog signal that is adjusted by a digital circuit in real time and is amplified to a standardised 0...10V signal. The miniature sensor head with a fine M8 thread can withstand temperatures of up to 1000 °C with suitable cooling, is overload-proof up to a magnitude of five times the measuring range, and is also resistant to vibrations.

The pressure transmitter illustrated here measures differences in pressure between the two connections of the measuring element. Pressure differences can be measured with respect to a reference pressure, such as atmosphere, or to the command variable of a regulation system. Equally, however, it is possible to measure pressure differences within systems that have a high static pressure. One practical example of this would be measuring a flow rate by determining the pressure drop occurring across a metering diaphragm. The differential pressure transmitter measures in both directions and can therefore, for instance, be used on double-acting hydraulic cylinders. Its construction permits it to be used with liquid or gaseous media. Venting holes simplify installation. The robust design and the use of stainless steel make it possible to use the pressure transmitter under tough operating conditions.

The sensor model 8228 with its measuring accuracy of 0.05% F.S. (for the measuring ranges ≤ 1 bar, the measuring accuracy is 0.1% F.S.) ideally suited as a reference sensor. The compact dimensions, the robust housing and the industrial-grade output signal result in a very wide range of applications. All components in contact with media are made of stainless steel. An integrated measuring amplifier converts the measuring signals directly into interference-free voltage signals or current signals that can be transmitted over long distances. With the „gage“ measurement type, the pressure measurement is carried out against the ambient pressure, the sensor has a bore that is protected against ambient influences to compensate for the ambient pressure. With the „Absolute“ measurement type, the applied pressure is measured against an enclosed vacuum; this measurement type is available from the measuring range 0 ... 250 mbar. The electrical connection is made via an M12 x 1 connector.

The series 25 pressure transmitters with a front-flush separating diaphragm are designed for industrial applications and are supplied with a G1/2" or G3/4" male pressure port. They are based on a fully analog circuit.

The series 23 pressure transmitters are designed for industrial applications and are based on the highly stable pressure transducers of the 10L series and a fully analog circuit. Thanks to its modular concept, this series can be flexibly adapted to customer-specific pressure connections and connector plugs.

The 9FLD-Ei series is a special version of the 9LD-Ei pressure transmitter. The flanged housing can be mounted using an O-ring or welded on. As with all D-line products, the chip-in-oil technology developed by KELLER is used here, uniting a pressure measuring cell, digital temperature compensation and signal processing in a compact housing made of stainless steel or Hastelloy.The I2C interface and the low supply voltages make it easy to integrate in microcontroller-based systems.
